1st ANNUAL "CAMPING ON A PORCH" - DIY & TINY CAMPER GATHERING

In this episode we meet up with several other tiny camper enthusiasts and DIY teardrop builders for the first annual “Camping on a Porch” gathering at the Edgar Evins State Park in Tennessee. Although heavy rain was forecast, there was still plenty of breaks in the weather to check out everyone's trailer.
We never leave a teardrop meetup feeling uninspired, and this gathering was no exception. We brought home many cool ideas from our fellow campers and look forward to incorporating them into our own teardrop build!
If you’ve never camped on a porch, you owe it to yourself to check out the Edgar Evins State Park. Every campsite is a large deck hung over the side of the mountain. Each site has water and electric and will be one of the coolest places you’ll camp.
Be watching for the 2nd annual “Camping on a Porch” meetup. We’ll likely announce the date a few months before the spring 2022 event.

    Awesome campers, Thanks for sharing! My 4'x6' V-nose Toy hauler/Camper/Theater's a work in progress. So far, added: 2-12x22 windows, 26x36 side door; 5ft tongue extension for a 48"x68" aluminum diamond plate front deck and 10" wide side steps in front of the fenders. 24" TV, AM/FM-CD/DVD in a 28"x48" entertainment ctr. in the point with all electric controls; 5k btu AC; a rear rcvr for a 24x48 'back porch' rack, my 'ramp room' which will be a rear kitchen & add'l space bringing interior to 4x9; Roof rack will hold gear and awning. A People S200 scooter causes the sofa-bed and solar panels to ride in the car. Wish me luck....

It would have been great to join in and meet you and Joanna, see your Camp EZ, and all the other fantastic teardrops. We loved seeing all the Spanish moss and smelling the Georgia pines in Fort McAllister State Park (Georgia)... We had a great time visiting family and are glad everything went well during our first huge road trip with our teardrop. Thanks for sharing so much great content! There are some great ideas with those builds. We had a freak hail storm hit last night with tennis ball size hail and my teardrop was in the driveway. Now my camper looks like a fat woman in spandex. Luckily nothing is broke but being a home built I don't want to re skin it so hopefully the dimples will give me better aerodynamics like a golf ball. This is why I don't recommend anyone move to Oklahoma this is a every year occurrence and for 8 years I have dodged the bullet but I knew eventually it would hit.

  • @CampandCamera

    @CampandCamera

    3 жыл бұрын

    It works great for the initial 30-45 minute burn, but loading more pellets on it to keep it going is a bit of work. Too many pellets will snuff it out, but too little and you only get about 5 more minutes. Someone told me today that they did the initial with pellets, then fed chunk wood after that and it did great. That’s what I’m gonna try next.

    Some are built-in the cabinetry. Some set on the ground and run hoses to the camper.

    I have it listed in my calendar for the Camping on a Porch event to be Oct 26 -30 but I am really not sure where I got these dates from. Are you having an event this year? I am not sure if I have actually seen anything about it &I would be interested in attending if so.
