To anyone struggling to learn Chopin's pieces, just keep at it! You will get there if you want it and keep putting in the effort. Maybe not in one hour, but you'll get there. My first Chopin piece took three months, the second took a few weeks. Selection is key. I should have played the E minor Prelude before the Minute Waltz but I wanted the Minute Waltz, so it took months instead of weeks. I'm playing some exercises to prepare for Etude Op. 10 number 1 and one day I want to play the Ab Polonaise, but in the meantime I'm working on this Waltz and it's going well. Playing Chopin's music is world changing. My left finger 5 is now a beast of a bass player. My left hand is much more solid overall and I can finally play decent trills. If you're a pianist and an appreciator of Chopin's music, I highly encourage you to power through! If the suggested fingerings don't work for you, find ones that do. Watch performances, master classes and tutorials. Ask other pianists for input.

I have been working on this piece for MONTHS and you still play it better than me in an hour! Your articulation is so clear and those repeated Ebs were so clean. I found it funny that you played the beginning Bbs as an octave, but still very impressive for just an hour on the piece! Definitely one of my favorites :) #ChopinValse

Yeah, not only the octaves, she's playing the quartes notes as thirds also (adding a Bb to the D and a C to the Eb)... Maybe she's reading from another edition, like it happened before with the nocturne nº1

#chopinwaltz What I love about Chopin, especially in waltzes like this, is the spirit conveyed through them. This waltz is very light, cheerful and has a happy, dancing tone throughout. It almost reminds me of the Minute Waltz, where Chopin was inspired by a little dog prancing around. I love to play this waltz frequently as it is also very nostalgic, in the sense that I used to listen to it when I was small. It goes from a very light beginning, to a more slow, melodious middle section, to a small melancholic minor staccato/acciacatura part, then a repeat, then back to the original theme, and in the end, a grand finale to finish it all. I just wish that Chopin had composed many more happy, joyful pieces like this. You also did a great job trying to capture the lively character of this piece, Annique! Hope to see more.

It is such a relief to see you struggle with this one. My mom was a very good sight reader and that's always been my benchmark, but I am so glad to know that it is no shame to not have all the notes right straight away. #Chopinvalse I love this bright and happy waltz, and played it somewhat but never studied it properly. Chopin has this combination of catchy tunes with interesting harmonies and clear moods, and watching this channel has made me play his work again.

#Chopinvalse I just love Chopins waltzes, they are just so beautiful, some cheerful, some very emotional, sometimes I love dancing to Chopin waltzes because you can not only feel the music, but also release it, like hows it going through you, sharing this music with others, and filling your heart with his music. This is the case of this waltz, imma say: its hard to dance to it, but you can, it not impossible! Awesome just amazing. Masterpiece!

#chopinwaltz In his waltzes, Chopin can perfectly create pieces that completely sound like dances even though they are not meant for dancing to. This dance-like quality builds extremely beautiful and majestic music. I began to study piano on late 2020; I can play his waltz in A minor Op. Posth, and am, right now, studying the Op. 34 No. 2 in A minor

Chopin is probably the best pianist we've ever had in this world, his work is inscribed in the history of music. What I love so much about Chopin’s waltzes is the different emotions in all of them (which kind of applies to all of Chopin’s music). From the most sad waltzes such as the a minor one 34 no 2 and the to the most happy one’s like the op 18 (which you played pretty well considering you only had one hour to learn the notes) and the op 34 no 3 ( which I am learning right now) they all convey such strong emotions. Chopin is such a genius composer that I don’t think we as pianists have even skimmed the surface of the endless ways of interpreting his music. Piano literature and playing would not be the same without Chopin. For your next challenge I want to see you play Chopin rondo in E flat major. #Chopinvalse

I love the little cutesie decorations in this #Chopinvalse like the repeated notes and grace notes. It gives the piece so much character and memorability. Also, while Chopin's Waltzes aren't usually meant to be danced to, this one makes me want to get up and waltz :) P.S. - I hear Sonata No. 2 in b flat minor in the background here, and I remember you saying that you love this Sonata. I'd love to hear you perform all the movements, especially the 3rd one!

#chopinwaltz I love his style of rubato. I think it give his pieces and style such a flourish of emotion and movement within the piece. I also appreciate his use of quite detailed and long phrasing which I believe give him such a mastery in articulation and emotional character!

#chopinvalse What I love about Chopin's waltzes is the energy (although there are some less energetic waltzes). waltzes like this, and many of his other grand waltzes, are jumpy and cheerfull. chopin has a very heartwarming feeling. i remember i was at a concert and it was very cold in the concert halll. when the performer played a chopin walts i stopped feeling cold and i even started to feel warmth. chopin always brings a smile on my face. also, pls play "the great gate of kiev" by mussorgsky next.

Since I played Chopin the first time (Waltz Op69 No1), I became inspired and motivated to play even more Chopin! What's interesting about these Chopin waltzes is that they all have a different character. When I am feeling a bit less happy, I listen a lot to Chopin and especially to the happy waltzes :)) #ChopinWaltz

Very impressed by your sight-reading skills, it takes for me to learn the right hand then the left then combine the two…

Do you dance you asked? W...A...Y back in the 1950's when I was a tyke, it was common here in America, ( well, at least the Philadelphia area) for parents to send their children to the 'catilion danc schools' where we all learned to waltz, Rhumba, Chacha, etc. Those days are LONG gone, and I have forgotten everything I ever learned.

#chopinwaltz one thing I always notice in his waltzes is the constant left hand bouncing to keep the tempo and kind of be a metronome for the piece in repetitive sections. Great playing as always and allowing us to see how you tackle another difficult piece😄
