Wow! 1000 subscribers? Didn't see that coming. So as a huge thank you to everyone for your support, here's an overview of the layout build so far.
Frontington and Backwoods is (or will be) a OO gauge model railway layout, depicting a fictional GWR branch line terminus, set in the rolling South Devon countryside not too far from Kingsbridge, at some point probably in the late 1930s.

Congratulations on the 1K subs. Not an easy feet these days. Envious of your layout so far. I returned to the hobby some 4 months ago and so far have not even got any track down. All in good time though. Will be interested to see how you progress from here.

I have just discovered your KZread channel and instagram account. Congratulations on reaching 1000. (now 1.2k).great layout, with loads of potential. I am watching with interest you dcc setup. Would you say it is any cheaper than off the shelf? I'm still analogue, as I am a tightass / I have limited budget (delete as applicable), but am interested in budget entry to the world of dcc. Great video, love the bit at the very end! Appeals to my sense of humour.

I've certainly found the Arduino DCC-EX approach affordable, although that's partly because I happened to have an old laptop and phone spare that I could use with it. If I didn't have those, a "normal" off the shelf solution might well have been cheaper.

@@FrontingtonandBackwoodsRailway will I have a spare pc, monitor, mouse, and an android device I could use. So this may be a solution in the future.
Praise the algorhythm! Do you have any more details on your use of the servos and arduinos? I've got a mid-sized terminus layout and I was planning a mechanical lever frame but I just don't think my heart is in it - so your toggle switches to servos seems like a great solution
