Not to mention SF's defense was Swiss cheese in '99. Their offense wasn't too bad. Heck, Jeff Garcia even had a couple good seasons with the 49ers tossing it to T.O., but Garcia definitely isn't Steve Young. Garcia's wife is still in her prime tho... ;)

Amazingly this was the only time that regular season that the Rams ever played in the 4ET time slot (and it was only because it was on the West coast) and the only time that a network's top announcers did one of their games. Didn't have any appearances on Sunday or Monday nights. People who didn't have Sunday Ticket only really ever saw them on the highlight shows.

What a missed opportunity for the NFL. Man I miss real football. With all the great things the Rams are doing in offense, the thing that jumps out more to me is just hitting is aloud. It's both ways, you catch the ball your gonna take a shot. Half the guys on the ground are still at least taking contact because the whistle hasn't blown. Faulk or the Niners back are getting a few decent runs but either finishing the run or getting hard by a guy or two. It's football no constant flags for hitting receivers or bumping the Quarterbacks. We all know dirty hits, no one wants them, but you can't destroy the game. Bug hits or hard hits don't mean dirty hits.

As for the Rams, with that high powered GSOT offense, they could have been a dynasty after winning their Super Bowl later that season, had they not lost to a young Tom Brady and the New England Patriots two years later, along with Warner and Faulk getting injured in their later careers.
