1999 Vintage Nike Dunk Up-Close! CO.JP Reverse Curry
Hey-o! This is an up-close and personal look at the vintage Nike dunk low colorway from 1999 known as the reverse curry, which was released as a Japan exclusive. This is a size 11, which is incredibly rare and few have been spotted online, so I figured I'd give my thoughts about the sneaker and share my passion for the materials of the old stuff, & since there have been rumors of the oh-so-popular medium curry dunk restocking this year I thought this would be a great time to showcase this ultra-rare dunk!

The 2011 pair was part of a vintage 4 pack. Nike was trying to bring back the dunk low at the time and made these pairs look aged, as they were all based on previous cws. It was also the dunks 25th anniversary. At the time people hated them and didn't enjoy the vintage treatment. Funnily, if they were released 10 years later they'd have been a massive hit! The other cws were reverse michigan , ultraman, and varsity red/blue.
The retro is bricks it's insane
the 1999 pair is so nice, was looking for a pair for a while too. i dont think the new pair will do it justice. but still cool of nike to retro it 25 years later

Only diff is nylon tongues probably but veneers and plums were horrible

@jugg3rnog Got em in hand now. Shape is similar to the 2020 SP lows. Unfortunately, the quality is not as good though. Thankfully, it's also not as bad as standard GR dunks. Somewhere in the middle. A decent retro and worthy of the og. It's a shame they butchered the argons so badly last year.

@@Neil-qg9cw yeah argon’s deserved wayyy better. but you’re saying these are better quality than the argon’s? i was tempted to pick up a pair but im waiting for a review somewhere

@jugg3rnog The new currys are definitely worth picking up. The curry panels are decent quality, the white slightly less - still miles better than the argon retro or any GR dunk since 2021 like pandas, unc, etc. Just not quite SP quality. Nike can do better, but they at least did the shoe somewhat justice. Details are all correct (like the printed heel logo), and the shape is nice and chunky, not like the pointy GRs/argons. Should also be an easy cop as well, got a 10% discount at midnight release 😁 Stoked personally as a US13 in the 1999 pair might not even exist at this point!
