I have this exact same truck in black, great little truck, 193K miles and still runs good, everything works except the cruise control,,,.... but when I purchased this truck in 2003 for $4100, my first objective was to find the annoying bell-bong and disable it... It's located under the radio and is integrated into the circuit board so uninstalling it is not wise.... So I just used a pair of Channel Lock pliers and broke off the top of the green plastic housing that houses the bell plate.... Nice and quiet now..... :]

I also have a '99 s10 that is black, and mine also has around 193k. Mine is a standard cab, automatic, LS 4.3L v6. I absolutely love these trucks. I got mine for $4500 cash and when I was growing up my dad used to have a '95 one he got painted silver. 5 Speed regular cab. Mine doesn't have cruise control though. Cheers.

They're great trucks, especially for the price, but I've had some issues with the 4.3 liter Vortec. The biggest problem I've had was the injectors, as they were the infamous spider injectors. Expensive part (paid about $300) and almost any truck with the 4.3 Vortec is gonna have these on the verge of going out if they haven't been replaced already just due to the age of these trucks. I've also had to replace some vacuum lines, water pump, radiator and catalytic converter, not too bad for a 21 year old truck, and all of those repairs were over the span of four years. Also, there's no way you're gonna find an S10 with 18k on it, hell I was lucky to find mine with only 82k miles, and mine was owned by an old guy that bought it new in '99.

I have a 98 s10 2.2 I don't want anymore, is yours still alive and running in 2024 or are you having code readers tell you now today that you need 5k into it to turn the warning lights off, is still being nice to you today?

The S10 was about the over-built v6 drag engine it came with. The rest is history. I've never seen a Tacoma motor at the drag or on the road with a parashoot. my 1996 4.3 drivin in an pickup has 850,000 miles stock everything. Where's the ranger 4 cylinder
