1999 Acura Integra SLEEPER: Simple Complexity
Hello everyone,
In this episode wee meet our friend Abel! He has always been around Civics and Integras and it clearly shows. He has build this awesome Integra in his driveway in a short-period of time. He knew he was going K right off the bat and sourced all OEM and top of the line aftermarket support for the K. He has maintained the car super clean and simple. Amazing to see that he has great taste and how he has not taken shortcuts. I hope he continues to build this car and one day picks up another one and takes it another route. Abel reached out to me via email and I am glad he did. A lot of great stories when it comes to this experiences the channel shows. Thank you all so much for the support. He is up to an offset conversation and I will try to make it happen down the road. Thank you all for the support to the channel. #automotiveanatomy

Definitely USDM front for the win! It’s why I fell for Integra’s. It’s actually a distinctive look as opposed to the generic JDM front that looks like every other car ever built.

I’m still driving my ‘99 LS I got brand new. I leased it then bought out the lease. 210,000 miles later it’s no longer all-original (replacement radiator, timing belts, some body work, et cetera) but other than a Magnaflow exhaust and K&M air filter, it’s clean. I also refer to it as a “sleeper.”

Nice build. 🙂 The recaros look like the Teggy ones to me. Love the rear US seat base. Been looking for one for ages. Unlikely to see one my side of the atlantic. I like seeing someone keeping the "local" front. Never got the hate for the USDM/EDM fronts. Dead right about the colour. Vogue silver is easy to _look_ clean. I have a JDM DC2 98 vogue silver Type R for the last 15 years. The R's with silver are rare(JDM only) but have really crap paint from the factory. Very thin.

@MrGrentch
4 жыл бұрын
@@abelalaniz9158 Yup and the R ones are worse if you can believe that. As a mate of mine who has one of those paint depth doohickeys said; if it was any thinner it wouldn't be there. He went on to take the piss about it being a deliberate weight saving exercise. The bastard. 😁 Nice install of the K BTW. I like it's not all tucked. I presume because it came out of a DC5 R you got the LSD with it? In my humble the _biggest_ difference in actual driving between a DC2 or DC5 non R and the R is the LSD. If I had any Honda(or any FWD) that I wanted to make better straight off the bat installing an LSD would be the first thing I'd do. I like the idea of debadgeing. Looks clean. I also like the lack of spoiler/wing on the back. Again looks cleaner. Nice job all around Sir. Just a thought on the cleaner look.. Maybe look at delocking the door handles by sourcing a set of rear door handles from the four door DB8? A straight swap. They were sold in the States so I'd reckon you could find them handy enough? I did that with mine. Were a bitch to source in my neck of the woods, but look great IMHO. Plus it kinda confuses the car thief scum. Though if your key fob battery ever goes, then it's a climb through the boot/trunk. Ask me how I know... 😁
