His alien face was truly horrific ! Who needs cgi when you have Phil ! I remember our national impersonator Mike Yarwood being greatly overshadowed by Phil, who took impersonations and inventiveness to a whole new level. In fact his 80’s material is still fresh and brilliant today.

Phil "Cool" one of Britain's best. Just goes to show that in years gone by, you could be really funny without resorting to the kind of language used by the "so called" comedians of today. Thanks Phil, and all your contemporaries for that observational humour which is so lacking in the world of tv entertainment today. I read somewhere, Phil has had a quadruple heart bypass, hope you're feeling better soon Phil.

One of the finest British talents of the last few decades. It annoys me how he is never even mentioned on any those shows about the history of comedy or impressionism. It's always Bremner, McGowan, and Culshaw. Sure, they had skills, but Phil could run rings around them in terms of overall talent. He was the true successor to Mike Yarwood.

Very much of his time, his best impressions by far were Jimmy Saville and Rolf Harris, like most impressionist and comics of the 70s, and 80s if you could do Saville and Rolf Harris good you were on to a good thing, everyone knew who they were they were always on and were very popular. Of course today everyone says how they never liked them etc etc, which is just a collective guilt, because they are embarrassed by it.

He was there on TV quite regularly then just suddenly disappeared. Where did he go & what has happened to him since. ? I am very to quite sure someone knows what has happened to him over the past X amount of years. I don't that's why I ask. I didn't keep up to date & regular tracking of him. As in thought it wasn't important vat the time. As many of us would have been in the same position. So, let's see who has the information from the last time he was shown his AWESOME TALENT on TV till now. ( If he is still alive that is). 😳🙄🤔

I think Lee Evans must have been influenced by Phil Cool's rubber faced act & funny stances & movements... Or is it a coincidence. Lee Evans has alot of his own which is original & is more a stand up comic that an impressionist so I am not taking away from Evans, who is brilliant, but I think Evans owes a lot to Phil Cool, & possibly Phil dissapeared from the scene when Lee Evans made his breakthrough, possibly because he was younger and similar ? Who knows what happened !
