Was always amazed how many Utah fans stayed for the presentation after a soul-crushing defeat like that. Also a classy move from MJ to address them directly in what had to be a bit of an awkward spot.

A player, who I assume, they wanted on the team. A very weird thing to hear from your employer. It sounds like advice you would hear from your manager, agent, lawyer, etc. Not your boss.

Ahmad Rashad: "Are you going to come back?" Phil: [Looks at Jerry Krause] Phil: "Gee, that's a great question, Ahmad. I'll dodge that one right now." Phil already knew the answer to that question before the season started. Jerry Krause told Phil before the season began that even if he won 82 games, that was his last season.

When Rodman was the least of the Bulls' problems.... Phil, MJ and Scottie were able to work with him but were constantly feuding with Krause. I can't imagine how that would have affected morale when your GM basically says he doesn't care how well you do during the season, you're out either way. The players busting their asses to win games and a championship knowing that it wouldn't make a difference with the higher ups.
