Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары
In this video I give a full in depth tour of the 1998 Lincoln Mark VIII LSC. I take viewers on a close look through the interior and exterior of this car while showing details, over viewing of features, and noting unique styling cues to the vehicle itself. I also show the engine and the details of it, start it up and see how it sounds under acceleration. A thorough tour/review of this car designed to give others a greater overall appreciation of the vehicle.

I have been driving Lincoln for over 25 years, 4 Town Cars and I just bought my 3rd Mark VIII. It's a 1997 LSC, in very good condition, with only 84,000 miles. I paid $3,600 for it. Amazing value. I LOVE THIS CAR. I love how it looks, I love its power and performance. I love the ergonomics - how everything fits me perfectly. It gets great mileage (19/28) for a Cobra V8. These cars were easily 10 years ahead of their time, and I will continue to drive Mark VIIIs until I can no longer find good used ones.

horselips Same here brother. I feel the same way. I only drive Lincoln. I refuse to drive anything else and have never owned anything but a Lincoln. I’ll drive Lincoln until I die. I’ve owned 7 Lincolns. Two ‘96 Continentals, an ‘85 slant back Continental, two Mark VII’s, a MINT, fully loaded ‘03 LS Premium Sport package, and a ‘99 Town Car. I currently still own my ‘91 LSC Special Edition, my ‘96 Continental, and my daily driver is my indestructible ‘99 Town Car Signature Touring Sedan. Incredibly reliable, comfortable cars. Nothing drives like a Lincoln to me. And nothing will ever compare to the ride.
This is one amazing car. The beauty of the design still holds up strong today. Great find.
grr I hate it when people don't take care of their cars

I used to own a Mark VIII.. I owned so many cars since then, but the Mark VIII was my favourite. I once did a trip from Florida to Colorado in one sitting with a Mark VIII.. that's a testament to what a great highway cruising car this was.

That 32V engine has such a great sound. Shame how luxury coupes from the Big 3 really aren't made anymore. The Mark Viii was a really well featured American car for 1998.
someone actually managed to get their hands on a lincoln with perforated leather and they destroyed it they shall pay
I had the 1998 LSC collectors edition. Wish had never sold it. It was pearl white, cream interior. Bulletproof tried and true mechanically.
And 10 years later I stumble upon this beauty. Thanks for the video!
This car is in excellent condition! I can't understand all these comments saying how trashed it is. The cream colored leather is known for the color rubbing off after time. The seats aren't ruined and don't have rips or holes. A little leather paint and those seats will look good as new! The dash and console just need to be cleaned, as does the carpet. There's nothing trashed about this car's interior!
i just got rid of my 1998 Mark viii lsc. it was Black with Black inside! i miss it so much. but when it broke it was alot of $. i remember driving to get on the highway and the engine would sound so awesome and had no probel getting up to speed! it was it great condition. none of that crap on anything
Got one recently, its in amazing shape and its an over all amazing car. This car definitely doesn't get as much attention as it should. Would recommend the mark vIII to anyone looking at one.

Monte Carlo is actually a nicer car no argument. now of this era the Monte was ugly, however the monte carlo is a sleek looking car with acceptable preformance.
It does sound sooo freaking awesome! Such a great car. As said on facebook before, I prefer the prefacelift version, but its still a great car. Very very high on my must have list. Keep those videos coming, you just cannot have enought videos of such a nice vehicle!
I love watching these videos they are very well made. almost every time I go to KZread there's always a new one. they are very enjoyable I look forward to watching more thanks!
Still one of my favorite Lincolns. Technology still valid today . . . design still futuristic and classic . . . unfortunately, Lexus and other imports quashed sales, but the Mark VIII still turns heads.
I also own a Mark and feature on my channel. It’s great to see one of these classics still on the road. Thanks for sharing yours.
My dad got one if these a few weeks ago. Not in the greatest condition ever but it's fast as hell, and I really like the styling. It has the 32v aluminum block 4.6, and the first time he took me out in it, we took about 20 minutes to figure out how to turn the traction control off.

If you're planning on keeping it, start looking for a front coolant crossover tube. Out of production, and no other car uses the same one. Made of steel, so they rust out. Stupid Ford. Would a brass one really have cost so much more?

@@d.e.b.b5788 hey! I just bought a 1994 mark viii, it has some idling issues, rpms will drop from time to time and if i floor it the car wont do much, and in parking and try to revv it i will have little explotions coming from the exhaust, any idea of what can it be?
i chipped mine ,dual flow master exhaust, 330 hp , sub 13 sec 1/4 mile at appx 133mph, top speed uh well as much as was willing to give it was 149 with lots of peddle to go on Z rated perellis. This car looks like a sleeper but trust me its fast fast, same motor as the ford cobra mustang execpt this mod has 32 valve instead of the stang's 16 valve. world class 0-60 for a car weighing nearly 4,000 lbs. standard 290 hp not a car for a kid. selling mine cheep kid needz car aint gettin this beast
Looks like somebody went crazy with a knife in there. Great video as usual...This car is really awesome! You help me learn a new car every once in a while..I love it.
i have a 98 Mark VIII LSC Collectors Edition, and I love it!! I love the shift points under hard acceleration
Great find, Kyle. Really striking styling.
What a beautiful car!! I would be proud to drive one these baby's!!
Really cool car, with a little work, esp. interior and polishing those headlamps it'll look pretty good. Thanks for including the original price as well as the original 0-60, nice info to include. Good video, and a really interesting find!
My dad owns two of these. Both are 1997 LSCs. They are very nice and fun to ride in.
Great video as always Kyle! Cool Mark 8!
Great video. Great cars these are!!!! It's a shame that this particular car was not more well taken care of as they should ALL be garaged and well kept....should be for ALL Lincoln's and Cadillac's. Both the Lincoln Mark VIII and the Cadillac Eldorado were the two last of the personal luxury coupe era and truly the last REAl coupes that still offer that old school ride, feeling and performance. And both the Eldorado and Mark VII are both powered by excellent 32 valve DOHC V8 high performance engines.......can't go wrong with either car as they both make excellent choice of car!
One of my dream cars,
I think this is the most stylish Lincoln in recent times. I wish they'd do a new version like a Mark IX or something. I think it'd show great potential as a competitor for the Infiniti G37 or the Mercedes E-Class Coupe.
Beautiful car mate.
This is the best looking Mark VIII i"ve seen in years...sounds GREAT
THAT IS A BEAUTIFUL LINCOLN! I wish they still made them like this!
Thanks for the upload.
i can buy a 96 non-LSC for $800 right now, have to covert it to springs for $366. (air ride's screwed) ... then there's a few other little stupid things to fix. idk yet...

I have a couple of questions. Are these cars hard to maintain and do maintenance? The reliability? These are really the sexiest looking sport luxury coupes
@thomasjj1976
7 жыл бұрын
They aren't that difficult to own or maintain. The drive train is exceptional. The air ride system can be fickle, but it's extremely easy to work on. The one in this video clearly has a leak in the front airbags that would require replacement, otherwise the compressor will eventually burn itself out constantly re-inflating it. For a 90's car, these are amazing. This example needs some some love.

TheDman7605 Yea I put regular in it a few times but I probably wouldn't do it every single time as they were designed to perform best on Premium...I put midgrade in it and sometimes premium. If you're trying to skimp on Premium or midgrade every time then maybe you should reconsider another ride as Mark VIII can be a picky little beast.
I have always like these cars, especially the last year model. If I can find a black on black in great condition I would jump on it. That would be my 4th Lincoln.

I hope he fixed all the things wrong with it. I have my 98 LSC for 16 years now and it still looks great with a 150+k on it. This car obviously was not taken care of. But this car was way ahead of its time with features. Ford just did not market it right.
i just saw one of these on the road, black v8, absolutely beautiful.

I love the Lincoln Mark VIII, they're so cool...wouldn't it be awesome of there was a 2014 version when the new Mustang arrives?!

Had the red LSC spray polished it twice a day. Buffed it like an Apple. its not an 05 300 c in corners but it was safe quiet to pick up mama in her wheelchair the wide doors were so handy. mileage was solid for the weight its what ford Lincoln used to do sharing bodies w T-Bird. The T-Bird sadly came out 4 years after they stopped the LSC with no back seat and none of the jaguar XK Grand Touring corvette beating it once had for Mulholland drive .

Sweet Lincoln! I see they are starting to come back to this taillight design, look at the MKX I believe its called. Very nice car, I want one lol Sounds amazing too!
@cupramac The entire cabin is filled with soft touch high quality plastics. This car was pure luxury and comfort. It was large because that was Lincoln´s way years ago when they had not a single medium size sedan. It can seat 4 people comfortably considering this is a coupe and not a family car ( people who bought this rarely got passengers in the back). This engine was very well developed for the 90s. It had more power than a comparable BMW 4.4 or M-B 4.3 V8 of that era.

Love the way that engine sounds... Car and Driver once described it as "The most mesmerizing shreik since the 1969 Boss 429 Mustang
Amazing car !!!
There is one for sale near me for 1400 with 123000 miles on it. It needs exhaust work and maybe paint touch up. Should I jump on it?
اتعلمت منك ماركات جديدة
What's the fix for the windshield wipers? Mine looks exactly like that till i turn on the wipers.
Stupid question; does the air ride compressor fail as often as the Town Car or is it improved for this model?
I remember the commercials panned in on the dash and said give up, you're surrounded..I automatically wanted one!

***** all I can really think of is that the Lexus has projector lights and 12 disc changer but those don't really matter. They're really similar though and the Lincoln is a lot more roomier
@mikhun4029
9 жыл бұрын
William T. Actually the Lexus "almost" has the same features as the Lincoln. Lincoln had a 10 disc changer vs 12 but it's got HID, puddle lamps, integrated side view mirror turn signal, and neon taillight. It was so advance lighting wise above all cars from that era. Then you had air suspension which lowered the car above 55 MPH, power tilt and telescoping steering, memory seats, and all the other luxury items you expected. Lets not forget, it's got a V8. The only thing I can think of that it didn't come with is dual zone climate control. Other than that, it was miles ahead of other cars from that era.

The air bags or lines are leaking on that car. Hence why it's a low rider after sitting then the air suspension lifts it up when you start it. Lincoln and Crown Vic's are notorious for this after the years.

Is it an easy fix
Pretty decent coupe for an american from '98 but AWESOME idea Kyle for making 0-60 times around 4:18 , these type of information that that really imrpove the quality of your videos making it more professional ! You know what , if you need somebody to help you gather more performance informations (0-60 , Braking distance , Vmax etc ) i can do that ;) Anyway nice video as always , You are definitely the youngest & best reviwer ! Ps: It's too cold outside for a green polo bud !
nice video man ..:D can you do a vw touran video please?
Never knew of this car before this video. I must say its a beautiful car from the design of the interior to the exterior. Every now and then america gets it right. It's a pity this car isn't in better condition. But hey nothing that a little upholstery job can't fix :)
Do you still have this car and how much is your price range this is the one I've been looking for I hope it's price reasonable I am very interested thank you,,,,, Orr
i dont care what anyone says, these are my favorite lincolns ever (maybe not this low to the ground) but theyre really slick lookin i like thm haha nice video Kyle
I have a 98 with 176,000 miles. Still going strong. The front of the car is not supposed to lower when it sits. That is a sign that air ride is failing. I got rid of the air ride and converted to coils. You have to love a Mark VIII to keep one - not a cheap date. Inevitably you will have air ride, blend door, driver door handle, and front headlight problems. I'm stubbornly going to try to keep mine as long as I'm alive.
The neon bar light on the back of the car doesn't work?
Were those headlights stock?
It has ride height sensors which control ride height at all four corners. The car will automatically lower at highway speeds and the suspension will vent only when the door is shut so that the door doesn't have the chance of hitting if parked next to a high curbline for example.
Great car
do these have to or three seats in the rear?
what a cool car
can any body tell me what the button by the door is?? is has a little phone symbol on it and a speaker i need to know what it does
I might be getting one of these soon! 113K, $4 grand, same color, a little bit better condition...is it worth it? should I get it?
If you don't mind my asking, where are you in this video? I recognize it from your previous "Junker" videos. Thanks!
I love the material wear which is exclusive for American cars. Red side marker light are pre-war design.
@MEGABOINK65 If I'm not mistaken, doesn't the car lower itself at high speeds as well? One of Fords ways of making the car more aerodynamic.
My neighbor had one of these, in a different trim... I seem to believe they were electronic gauges. However, it was the weirdest car and I still think its a strange looking car. As a kid, I remember getting rides in it all the time, good memories.
