Damn, just brought tears to my eyes, life was good then. Bulls were on top and close friends and family were still alive then. ❤️

It's 2024, and this tune is still in my head.

This was the NBA at it's best where teams hated eachother and players wanted to win without forming a Super Team

Facts 25 years later

a primetime regular season game on network television (other than christmas) before abc ruined it. You knew a game was big was big if it was in primetime on NBC, especially in the regular season.

ABC also ruined Saturday night college football by having it every week in a Game of the Week format. Fox does a good job of keeping a big match feel though.

Im glad i got to watch basketball in the 1990's. Bob Costas was amazing at what he did. His intros were epic. His voice was quality. And that theme song afterwards is the best sports broadcasting theme song of all time (Fight me!). This video is just pure gold!

The great John Tesh and the Roundball Rock with the perfect timing of suspense given by Bob Costas is what helped Michael Jordan and the Chicago Bulls get so much recognition. Whenever people are brought together who are great, they all need to be recognized!

Man, the 98-99 season just wasn't the same. The Knicks/Spurs was prob the worst finals ever. 99-00 was waay better but nothin compares to 96-98

Knicks run from 8 seed to the finals was one of the best/entertaining playoff runs ever imo. West was on a whole different level until Shaq and Rasheed came East.

I hope Disney/ABC/ESPN loses the NBA. Even if the new broadcaster doesn't use Roundball Rock, ABC has treated the NBA as "content" instead of an epic matchup of superstars

Remember waking up early in the morning, ready for the triple headers covered in a blanket in front of the TV. Once the commercials were over and I saw the nbc sports clips with fans chanting, I would literally get goosebumps and knew history was gonna be made

I remember the Intro like it was yesterday, It was so hipped up I thought I was watching history unfolding, and yet it was just a Basketball game

Imagine as a kid watching the NBA on NBC intro then right after that watching the Bulls intro 🤯 by the time the game tipped off my adrenaline was at an 11 out of 10 lol

I loved the Knicks back then. Yeah, they never got over the hump, but I still loved them. At least they beat the Bulls this game. This theme gives me goosebumps.
