1998 Cadillac Seville Video Owner's Manual

This was taken from a VHS tape that came with each new Cadillac Seville automobile. I guess you could call it a video owner's manual as it went through the features and owner preferences that could be set up.

Didnt the Seville have variable valve technology, that could turn off 4 cylinders when car is idel or stuck in traffic??? Back then that was optimum efficiency from a V8 and nothing to be sneered at.I doubt this technology efficiency is used today.

It did indeed. As did many of the Cadillac models in 1981. The project was a dismal failure as the article below explains. I was working at Cadillac at the time and I remember the big plans and then the quick scraping of the project. www.drivingline.com/articles/cadillacs-8-6-4-variable-displacement-engine-was-ahead-of-its-time-and-its-tech/

I love these cars but the interior of these 90s and early 2000s Cadillacs always age very poorly. The leather does not hold up at all.

If left out in direct sunlight for years the UV rays destroy interior on any vehicle regardless of make or model.

The Eagle Ottawa leather on the seats holds up exceedingly well. The issue is that the adhesives on the dashboards are weak and cause warping.

@@jesdadotcom I've saw many devilles, sevilles, and Eldorados with warped dashes and also cracked or damaged leather seats. I have had much better luck with Chrysler leather. The leather in my 94 Chrysler concorde to this day still looks almost new.
