Actually Snyder was a humongous asshole who scheduled almost exclusively bottom-feeder D-3 calibre schools in his nonconference and left his starters in to score 60+ on them, while Osborne played a mix of power conference teams and the occasional WAC team like Colorado State but took his starters out typically by the midway point of the 3rd quarter as long as they were up by about 3 or 4 TDs (sometimes worse ala Arizona State, a power 5 team, in 1995). Tom Osborne tried to emphasize the perspective that sports aren't all about winning, whereas Billy boy once compared losing a game to having a family member die of cancer. Bo Pelini was a jerk in his own right, but his assessment of Snyder in aught-three was accurate 🤗 Screw that guy 😄

It is a shame that DeAngelo Evans suffered a string of injuries that effectively ended his Husker career. Oh, what could have been.

There were fans who actually thought that DeAngelo was better then Ahman Green as a True Freshman when Green was a Sophomore. They felt he hit the hole quicker and with more oomph. Yes, DeAngelo was great before he got injured. First the blown knee and then two torn hamstrings. He had a big Senior year after transferring to Emporia State I believe it was. Around 1,300 yards.

@@jeffreyk5734 Honestly, I've never been a huge Ahman Green fan. I saw him play in person and watched him on TV many times. I certainly acknowledge his accomplishments and stats, which are quite impressive. But I always felt that Ahman Green had too many areas in which he was sub-optimal: he didn't protect the ball consistently and fumbled way too often; he was a long-strider who lacked change of direction and shifty elusiveness; he lacked elite balance and at times went down when a more balanced runner might have retained his feet; he didn't display elite level vision to see holes quickly (or perhaps lacked the balance and change-of-direction to take advantage of unexpected holes). In the end, I appreciate all of the wins that Ahman Green contributed to as a Husker, but I never felt like he was much more than a very fast straight-line runner with good size whose success was greatly magnified by the excellent system in which he played.

Well, for elusiveness and balance Damon Benning was arguably a better Running Back. Damon didn't have Ahman's speed, but he certainly wasn't slow either. I was at times critical of Green's running myself until his junior year. As I recall He was like 225 pounds as a sophomore, but dropped about 10 or 12 pounds before his junior year, because he felt he didn't move as well and was disappointed with the way he played during the1996 season. Not enough explosive plays. He definitely remedied that. People say that Ahman would have broken Rozier's career Rushing records if he had returned for his Senior season. However, Green would have taken 4 years to have accomplished what Mike did in just three. We'll never know what Phillips might have done if he had started and stayed healthy the entire 95 season. That being said, I was a big fan of Clinton Childs and thought that he could have been a great one as well given the chance to be the starter. @@davidk6269

He went to my high school and was coached by my baseball coach. The stories about his high school career were absolutely insane. Apparently a big reason why he committed to NU so early was because he got tired of his locker absolutely overflowing with recruiting letters. He was actually my middle school running backs coach as well and was a really good dude. Seemed like someone who didn't really take care of his body, which may be why he got hurt so much. He and his brother, Maurice, who became President of the NBAPA, were absolute legends at that school.

LOL. Brent's reference to Frost losing to ASU in 1st 5 secs of this video. Lost to ASU? How bout not scoring and suffering 3 safeties. #1 Neb scored 55 pts the week before ASU, and 65 after, but couldn't muster any pts in that game , but LOL, 10 unranked teams did. 42, 35, 34, 27, 19, 14, 14, 7, 7, 7 #1 Neb obviously didn't show up against ASU just like FL didn't show up against them 2 games earlier. @@slotking3856 Exactly. I don't go to a single video of a team I hate just to trash talk, especially games they won big where they had great success. I also don't waste time looking up tons of stats on college football for comments on youtube. This character also claims he went to school at Alabama. First off, I can't imagine this guy having a college education. But also, that's just way too convenient and makes no sense. Why the hell would an Alabama fan be this obsessed with and hate Nebraska football? Alabama hasn't even played Nebraska anytime in at least the last 40 years. And with the success they've had, why would they care anymore about what anyone else has done?
