This was Coopers worse loss to Michigan it cost him a national championship. This Bucks team was undefeated loaded with talent and they were up 9-0 at halftime and they didnt score again !! Then they beat an undefeated Arizona St team in the Rose bowl .

95 was just as bad. OSU was undefeated and absolutely stacked, including Heilman Trophy Wimmer, Eddie George. OSU was undefeated that year too, while MI had a few losses. But over 300 Rushing Yards yards Biakabutka, really kept George on the Side Lines.

When streets scored that long td osu subconsciously never recovered! All the old disappointments and 1 lose seasons

1997 David Boston was asked about wood son and answered he ain't no Shawn springs! He must not have dressed or watched the highlights of this game less than then 1 year before were springs got beat for the long, and only td!

As a Michigan fan this was the only game I missed on tv. I was in Air Force basic training and remembered asking the TI who won. Go Blue

I argue this was the worst loss in Ohio state history. Worse than Penn State in 94, worse than Michigan in 95, worse than MSU in 98, worse than than Florida and LSU national title game losses, worse than MSU in 2015 Ohio State was certainly not as good in 96 as they had been in 95 but the difference was they had a chance for revenge, at home, on senior day, against their despised rivals, as 17 point favorites Nebraska was steamrolling everyone on their way to the national championship in 1995 and there was no way I don’t think Ohio state could’ve beat them. In 96 however, they win this game and undefeated Florida loses later that day, Ohio State and Arizona State both as undefeated teams. All Ohio State had to do differently was win this game and they are the outright big ten champions for the first time in 12 years and national champions for the first time in over a quarter century. Instead, the Buckeyes lose this game at home and John Cooper never wins an outright conference title and never wins a national championship in 13 seasons at Columbus

One silly thing I remember about this team was the names on defense - Ian GOLD, Glen STEELE, Sam SWORD, Marcus KNIGHT, Jared IRONS...just perfect names for football players

The was the beginning of the 1997 team.

Go Blue unfortunately these old clips are the only way for me to see us beat the buckeyes😢
