I admit that I was caught off guard when I saw a young Chusovitina. Logic would say that she did, in fact, start out as a child and grow older like everybody else, but watching the last fifteen years of her career might leave one with the impression that she's been the same age since the dawn of time.

Why was John Tesh a gymnastic announcer?
@evanwilliams6406
3 жыл бұрын
I was never sure about that, John has a musical background and back then there was a focus on the classical themes of the floor exercise. In those days, it just felt like a meet or recital, and good camera work and they let the pictures tell the story. John Tesh was perfect from that aspect.
@rexjdk
3 жыл бұрын
@@evanwilliams6406 I it is something like the New York Mets announcers you have Keith Hernandez and Ron Darling who are the experts one being a former fabulous hitter and the other a great pitcher while Gary he has the mechanics of the booth down and is kind of like the fans are seeing during the game. I think Al Trautwig was the John Tesh roll after 96.

He was a cycling reporter for CBS back in the 1980s and NBC wanted to create an opportunity for him, so he started covering gymnastics in Barcelona in 1992. Despite what most people think, I never thought he was that bad. Aside from the occasional repetitiveness in the intro at the 1996 US Championships (which were in Knoxville) and the overdramatizing of the fluff pieces (which he was probably told to do), there was really nothing wrong with him.

I was never sure about that, John has a musical background and back then there was a focus on the classical themes of the floor exercise. In those days, it just felt like a meet or recital, and good camera work and they let the pictures tell the story. John Tesh was perfect from that aspect.

I think he was a sports commentator before he did entertainment reporting. He was commentating gym meets back in the early 80s!

Why do they keep saying Kerri went to 6 gyms? I can only think of 5.. Browns, Dynamo, Tucson, the Foresters, then back to Karoylis.. what's the 6th?

At home she trained with Arthur Okopian I think it was after she left Nunno about 1994.
Tim Daggett drives the suck bus to frown town! I hate his negative commentary
This beginning fluff piece is stupid.
How lame! They showed every female gymnast except Yvonne Tousek who was 5th all around !
