It’s fun to watch these old niner games with hindsight. What stuck out most with Young is how deadly he was with a 3 step drop. Damn.

9er fan! I always reference this game when people say no one out right beat Prime. If the Rams had a better QB they beat us because Flip was unstoppable. Prime had no answer for him. When asked about it his only excuse was, my shoulder was hurting. His feet weren’t, lol

Actually attended this game and had great seats! In true Candlestick fashion, it was warmer for this game than it was the Giants game about two months prior.

The Rams gave the 49ers all they could handle. Steve Young and Jerry Rice were fantastic that night

The 1994 49ers are still the best football team I’ve ever personally seen. Look at all of the hall of famers that had. And the coaching staff: Seifert, Shanahan, Rhodes, McKittrick and Kubiak. Mike Solari was a tight ends coach that year and he would end up being regarded as one of the best o line coaches ever. Wow.

I remember watching this game thinking the Niners were gonna blow out the Rams but the Rams played them tough. Loved it when Flipper Anderson burned Sanders.

Seiffert is probably the greatest manager of talent in NFL history! If Craig does not fumble in the champ game in 90 against the Giants, George likely* beats the Bills and has 3 rings. *The Bills had a lot to get done with Montana, the 49ers offense, and 49ers defense in that era. Not to mention, the 49ers were more representative of the Cowboys and Redskins than the Giants, who the Bills were competitive with.

Montana was knocked out of '90 SF NY playoff game and done for the season. Steve Young would have been QB for SB.

@@donkloos9078 Different strokes for different folks. The 49ers beat the Giants some, but their games were 60-40 or 55-45. Any team could win on any week they played when both were near their best(before the Young era* and before Taylor began to fade). But, the Bills probably win that SB with Giants had the Giants not run the ball so well(ate up time) plus 50-50 situations went their way, too, as far as game-winning moments. Including the game ending drive--where the Bills were forced to put the game on the foot of the kicker(in an era when kickers were unproven in those SB clutch moments). The reason the Bills would have lost to the 49ers--in my opinion--was they were vulnerable to very good pass rushing teams. The 49ers were solid upfront in the very early 90s(like Cowboys and Redskins that dominated the Bills). *Young was not as good as Montana and the defensive drop-off from right before Young to the beginning of Young's career as a starter was considerable.
