Should have taken elements from the current Mx-5 and the rx-9 concept from a couple of years ago to maintain familial design language. This is a nice looking car, but it doesn’t feel like what a redesigned RX would look like.

I know that the pop-ups will be remove because it need to be a modern car and aerodynamics purposes but i woud like to see a modern pop-ups.

Kinda has a c7 stingray vibe in the front bumper. Looks amazing but it does look like a body kit more than a redesign. That being said it would be a very amazing body kit at that!

It has a110 headlights in a corvette headlight housing and it's bumper is giving me porsche vibes. I kinda like it but I'd still take an actual fd over this.

Love the rear. The front looks like the offspring of a C6 and a Porsche.

You know what the original Rx-7 SA/FB was a copy of Corvette. The FC was a copy of Porsche. It was the FD the had an original design.

Love the redesign but it only looks like RX7 with a modernised body kit...i would love to see RX7 redesigned based on the current design language of Mazda...100% sure its gonna look epic... RX7 stance and sleekness with Mazda's Kodo design language...

In my opinion the headlights are a little weird combined with the bumper .You should have turned the light bars under the headlights of the old one to led bars to keep some of the original dna

I had this car, the FD 1994 in red w/tan leather interior, 5 speed manual, twin rotor, twin turbo. Was quite pleased with it except for the lack of low end torque and the lack of durability of the rotary engine. I agree w/ your RX-8 comments, no comparison to the RX-7 gen 3 design. Now I have a 2016 C-7 Corvette Stingray in Laguna Blue w/ light gray interior, 7-speed manual, 6.2L w/ plenty of low end torque. The "vette has all the sharp angles the RX-7 doesn’t with high performance car handling. You did a fine job w/ the RX-7 update except for the bolt-on spoiler. And glad to see you quickly removed the rear wiper, that was the one tacky design feature of the RX-7.

I like the design, but it looks more like a 2010-2012 car than a modern day version.

You made a Porsche front end with a r35 gtr rear......if they wanted to make an amazing rx7 relaunch, they keep it the exact same with new ground effects and a 3 rotor single turbo stock, and updated interior.

I'm wondering if you could design some kind of pop-up that folded down at a certain impact pressure that would comply with the pedestrian crash laws that doomed the look

Wouldn't fold fast enough. What would be more appropriate is to connect them to collision avoidance system so that they close real quick as the car braces for impact

I had a modified FD for ten years (and two engine rebuilds - coolant seal failures). I loved that car…when it ran. Got a C5Z06 (not stock) that I still own along with a P100D. This redesign looks incredible.

2:42 POP UP HEALIDGHT arent illegal , they just must respect some hard regulation, the new La pantera supercars that just came out as pop up headlight . Pop up headlight are not just hard to use legally so most car company stopped using them.

Everything you just did is already available for the 3rd gen. The FD RX7 has the most bodykits and appearance upgrades available for any single model probably in automotive history. I bring that up because you effectively put on a SCOOT Japan front end, paired with either CCE, Group A or EUROU Aero front fenders, side skirts patterned after RE-A RX8 D1 kit, stock 99 spec wing, Car Shop Glow Taillights and Twinzdesign rear diffuser. Love your work but you should have started with a clean sheet and used the RX Vision concept and Mazda's current design language as a starting point.

The front grill doesn't match the current Mazda design ethos and you wouldn't know it was a Mazda at first sight. Plus the grill and lights combination makes it look a bit cartoony. I would love to see you do a redesign of the 1994 european/uk Ford Scorpio. The one with the frog eyes and see how big a challenge it would be to make that car attractive.

Just thought I'd leave this here. The first generation, dubbed SA22C or FB for north America went from 1979-1985. The FC was 1986-1991 and the FD was 1992-1995 (2002 in Japan)

Could you redesign the 300zx rear/side profile? I think it is such a timeless design from those angles, particularly with the black lines cutting up the body.

Just a quick note on your thumbnail - the car pictured shows the re-styled (refreshed) nose and rear wing that were first offered in 1999.

Technically, pop-up headlights are not illegal. It's just that they're difficult to make when complying with European Laws, and so car companies deemed it unnecessary to to work around it.

Just my opinion, I think it misses some elements from Mazda(zoom-zoom) so make it doesn’t look like a part of the Mazda lineup. It looks like an RX7 body mix up with C7 Corvette, Carrera GT, and a 599 GTB

You could have implemented some of Mazda's modern design philosophy & called back to the original RX7 (look at the front end of the current Mazda 3)
