McDermott wanted to be in the army but got shot by an air rifle and lost an eye, he probably tried to headbutt the air rifle and it wasn't having any of his crap. I can't believe they allowed him to coach kids. Now kids, if you can't hit the ball carrier with your elbow, make sure you rake your sprigs across his face when he's on the ground, that's how we play footy in England.

Tuigamala overshadowed meninga in this game and he was still new to the game of league at the time

Raiders fan here. Brett Mullins officially ran 567 metres in this game. And Mal Meninga is an absolute legend, but an atrocious goal kicker (no one has ever since kicked the ball using a straight-line approach).

I am looking at the number of elbows the Wigan players used in the tackles, ....simply ignorned by the commentators..have a GOOD look..too many!

Man how *stacked* is the *Roos* side? Imagine comparing the *team sheets* of this *94* side and the *86* side..

it was more a test of character for Australia, to withstand these multiple in a row unfair unwarranted penalties and still come out on top.

Did Sironen say something horrible about English mothers? I have never seen a player as heavily targeted as Sirro was on this tour.

That first half could have seen a 40-6 scoreline, the aussies really laid off once they knew the game was done. And Shaun Edwards was awful everytime he played the aussies, that try by Renauf showed terrible commitment by him in defence 47:13 he was a myth as a player

Edwards came out to oz in 1989 and ended up in reserves after a few games. I think he was the only overseas player to come over to play that ended up being benched. Its no co incidence either that when he was sent off in the first few mins of the first test GB improved out of sight and won a famous victory at Wembley. Plus, I played footy, not at this level, not for this amount of money but I can honestly say I never dogged at tackle like he did on Renouf at the timestamp i pointed out, that was insulting to his team mates.

Poor tackle attempt I will admit but I seam to remember him playing 70 minutes of a cup final with a smashed eye socket & playing a blinder so I wouldn’t ever say he lacked heart & he had great game second test match in 1992 for G B. Yes I am a life long Wigan fan who lives near Hull & all the Hull fans really rate him & the older ones always mention Eric Ashton!

b een watching the last ten minutes of this AGAIN one month after I made my last comment ..wow this referee,,,,,how bad..the thing is that posterity provides us with their mis deeds, it is not incompentance, it IS cheating and even many years later, they should be held to account,,,,,,,because it is beyond a doubt!

Anthony Mooney over half this side was the Canberra Raiders side of 1994, they would have minced this Wigan side by 40 anytime between 1993-1995

Anthony Mooney Canberra didnt win the 93 premiership in Sydney thats why. if you knew about the sydney comp back then you'll see that the Raiders blasted the eventual winners the Broncos by 25 points a months before the final, and the state of origin was basically raiders v broncos that year, the raiders dominated NSW easily beating the bronco heavy QLD. Ricky Stuart broke his leg last game of the year before finals and the Raiders dropped 2 games to bow out. Rick didnt break his leg in 94 and they kept on dusting the broncos by big margins. Even Broncs fans will agree the 93-95 raiders were a much better side.

God Almighty, without the refereee this would have been a huge hiding...these sort or refereeing onsiderations was the reason than independant referees had been bought in..just a complete sending off offence, the referee should have been sent OFF!

As the Commentator says , They lose the rules , they lose the game ( of course ) and they lose their dignity.Wonder if they had any dignity to start with, the Wigan dopes.I doubt it.

I am really NOT trying to sound biased..................BUT..the refereee was truly outstandingly BAD and gave Wigan so much extra.....forwars passes from Wigan were tolerated, dropped balls were ok from Wigan , running contentious decoys were fine.....The Australians did it tough against the referee and also agains the commentators , my God they are just so biassed, they are suposed to give a commentary, instead they give a rant that is just stupid!

That Wigan team would’ve beaten any Australian Clubside at any time as they proved beating Brisbane that year down under
