米国「20世紀フォックス社」の人気映画「エイリアン」と「プレデター」の2作品をミックスした格闘アクションゲーム。ストーリーはアメリカのダークホースコミック社のコミック版をベースにしたカプコンオリジナルとなっている。内容は異星の戦闘種族「プレデター」と軍の戦闘サイボーグの2人が、大発生したエイリアンに立ち向かうというもの。登場するキャラクターごとに能力は異なるが、ゲームをやりこんでいくとそれぞれに独自の攻略テクニックが見つかり、そこが多くのプレイヤーを惹きつけることとなった。攻撃は地上でのコンボ攻撃に加えて、ジャンプ攻撃での追い打ち攻撃が可能。さらに、銃火器も標準装備されている。敵エイリアンが一度に大量に登場する為からか、難易度が高いように思われる作品だが、横スクロールアクションゲームとしての完成度は非常に高く名作として語られることが多い。
ストーリー:
エイリアンの大発生。かつてない恐怖が、独立海上都市「サン･ドラド」に降りたった。軍の戦力として現地に向かったリンとシェーファーの2人は、そこで別の生物と遭遇する。 ･･･プレデター。今や人類の存亡は、この異形の戦士の行動ひとつに委ねられている。

The thing I loved about this game was how mobile the characters were! That and the fact that you had an orgy of weapon to pick up off the ground!
We take games for granted these days, but as kids and teens we wished upon a star to have this on consol to play at home, imagine that.

You are not lying I felt that way for a very long time wondering if I was ever going to play this game again. I play it now with a modded Og Xbox only reason I bought was because of this game along with other Capcom beat em ups.
I loved this game so much. i remember it like its yesterday.

HELL YEAH. I remember playing this at the arcade, They had i connected to a big screen and it took all my quarters. I made it so far but but never beat it. You can imagine my disappointment when I bought that abomination on the SNES. Should’ve let Capcom have it from the start.

These side scrollers were cool in their day and definitely fun.
For those of you wondering what's the "bug counter stop", it's about 9:48. The time over occurs during the Predator's suplex and it bugs the score counter.
The bug is ocurred in the Time Over in the game only in the Queen chest stage If left without killing the character of the level of the elevator (Royal Guard), after a while he dies alone 3:06
