Lovely looking Class C motorhome. I'd buy it if it were sold here in the U.S.A. I love the non-turbo diesel engine powering it. 0-60 mph doesn't matter to me. Durability, reliability, and serviceability are the most important.

I agree. Why small displacement (2.0-3.0 litres) diesel engines aren't allowed to be sold in the USA is beyond my comprehension. I'm all for clean air emissions, but this is ridiculous.

One thing to watch out for is rust if the joints between the body and FRP was not properly maintained over the years. A friend bought one and the A pillar had severe hidden rust because the silicone seals were leaking and letting water into the frame.

i can say the japnese built mk1 td27 are bomb proof we got now two japnese import d21 and own one we've had for 19years (its a rare topspec 1990 model aswell) now its not the fast but it just keep going and going and are built like tanks sadly you do have to watch for rust on them and the main gearbox bearing those are the two only faults whats weird about that one is its a late 1993 but its got a black top from what i know the black tops were introduced around mid 1994 would love to have the money to import some more d21s cause in the uk they have either rusted or scrapped for their engines (mostly the td23,25 and mostly 27)

rSANTOSx00 you gotta figure it out on you're own the first thing you need is a Diesel engine. VW and Mercedes diesel are good and are really cheap. You can get a JDM diesel for a lot more and a 4bt Cummins is way over priced.

Awesome camper! All diesel oil "looks to need change" I can change the oil in my vw diesel and check the dipstick 5 minutes after and it's black again. That's just the way diesel engine oil is. Always black. The reason they don't have a floor shifter is because people want to do the Dukes of Hazard thing.

Something tells me this guy doesn't know a whole lot about campers.... when y ou fold down the table, the cushions slide down and across to form the rest of the mattress. Also, the bed on top is SUPPOSED to have a 2 part mattress. Of course, those were taken by the previous owners who probably bought another one of those campers, newer and in better shape. Too bad it's not legal here in the states. I'd love to have one of those!

(Andrew) This camper is an October 1993 model, so it's not legal for the US until October of 2018. To be importable to the US, vehicles must be 25 years old, dating from the month of manufacture. The rule for Canada is 15 years from the month of manufacture.
