    i have a few questions for u . for the 24x , did u convert over to a 94 engine harness? {mass air }also did u run into any issues ? i have a 93 formula and installed the 24x torque head system and using a 94 engine harness. any help would be appreciated . thanks !

  • @mrmister7526

    @mrmister7526

    I did do a conversion to a 94 harness as well. I am not running a MAF and am strictly speed density. You will need to swap a couple of wires in the passenger foot well side of the harness. The fuel pump activation is one of them. LT1swap.com has the pin outs for all years of the 93-97. Just match up with the 94 and your good to go. If you run without a MAF you will need to have that in the tune. I would recommend not using the “custom” tune from torqhead. It wasn’t functional. Their base tune is good.

    It’s been great. I’ve probably flashed the PCM over 100 times now as the build has changed or tuning is required. The original coil packs that came with the kit are still working great. I’ve never had an issue with the signal from either the cam or crank sensors. Solid unit.

    What about the VSS connection that’s on the 94 electronic transmission vs the one on the 700 tranny on the 93?

  • @mrmister7526

    @mrmister7526

    2 жыл бұрын

    My car is a manual. The VSS off of the T56 is the same regardless of year. I believe the same with the 1993 4L60 vs the 1994+ 4L60E. You will likely not have an issue. Look at shbox.com/1/harness_connector_faces.htm to check if there are any differences on the connectors to see if you need to repin the VSS Edit: They are the same. The VSS will be plug and play. The transmission will function as it did as long as you set the car to be a manual trans in the tuning software. You will still require the 93 throttle body as it has the appropriate kickdown cable.

    Need more details on the harness swap. I have a 93 and have looked into the swap but everything I find says it’s pretty difficult

  • @mrmister7526

    @mrmister7526

    It's not difficult. You will need to replace the main harness with one from a 1994 model year. I found one used locally. You will also need to purchase a 94-97 oil pressure sensor (Its moved from above the oil filter to behind the intake manifold), replace the IAC motor with one from a 94-97, and swap two wires in the passenger foot well connectors. If you have an automatic transmission then you will make sure that you have a manual trans tune from torque head (the 93 use a non electronic transmission). The torqhead kit itself is pretty straight forward to install. Paul (the owner) is very friendly and will offer great support. If you need anything you can always reach out here as well. I've been through the ringer with the 1993 F body and am happy to share what I've learned.

    10/4 sounds simple enough. I already have a 4l80e swapped in and the TCU unit to control it. Thanks for the info, will plan on swapping asap.

    What do you need to do to make the torqhead 24x work on a 1993 Camaro? Brand new opti and Ive been chasing a misfire for way too long. I think its time.

  • @mrmister7526

    @mrmister7526

    The best route is to pick up an engine harness for a 94 F body. You'll need to replace the IAC and oil pressure sensor as they are have a different plug and in another location respectively. You'll need a MAF sensor and to swap a couple of wires in the passenger foot well connectors. It's not terribly difficult and makes a world of difference for future tuneability.

    this is a dumb question but is that a special bracket for the procharger i have a d1sc and need the whole bracket assembly to run it what is that part called 95 lt1 z28 383 forged 6spd

  • @mrmister7526

    @mrmister7526

    It is definitely a specific assembly. I will get out to my shop and get the specific model numbers for each part. Alternatively you can call procharger themselves and they can assist. You will need to purchase the part(s) themselves through a dealer be it online or at your local speed shop.

    The ProCharger kit came from my local speed shop. You need to order full kits from a vendor. You can purchase it from a dealer on eBay as well. As for the 24x conversion kit I went to Torqhead and spoke to the owner Paul. He was very helpful.
