1993 300GE | The Manual G-Wagon That Changed Everything

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

In this video, I review a 1993 Mercedes-Benz 300GE. A G Wagon with a manual transmission and an inline 6 cylinder engine. It is an amazing SUV that created the foundation for what the G Class would soon become. A luxury on and offroad vehicle.
Though the Land Rover Defender and Hummer H1 are great offroad vehicles. They haven't accomplished what the G Wagon has. At least... not quite as well.
Thank you to Formula One Imports for providing me this G Wagon to review, here is a link to their website: www.formulaimports.com/
If you are interested in reading the owner's manual, here is a link:

Most ppl don't know the true potential this car has, most ppl who drive 4x4 off-road vehicles who compare this to a defender or any other just never drove a G wagon and don't have any mechanics and off-road xp/knowledge Smooth driving ,confort, classy, mechanical sturdiness, extreme off-road capabilities and build to last makes the G wagon uncomparable and legendary

True, but you wont see many people taking their g wagen into serious offroad use… it‘s a shame i think too but it‘s simply too expensive and real offroad enthusiast often can‘t commit to cars which are driven as statous symbols like the g wagen is mostly. Tbh i‘d love to own a g wagen offroad beast

„S“ in German for „Straße“ (Street) and „G“ in German for „Gelände“ (Off Road). „N“ in German „Neutral“. // Offtopic: And if you ever heard of read about „PKW“ in context with German Cars, This is the abbreviation/shortcut for „Personenkraftwagen“. In Germany we have veeery accurat designnations for almost everything 😅 For example „Street legal“ vs. German „Strassenverkehrszulassung“ . Maybe a suitable translation Word for Word „Street Traffic Permit (Permission). And the best for last: if you change Parts in germany at the the car (e,g, rims oder exhaust) which are not original from the manufactorer (BMW, Mercedes….) you need for this a „ „ABE“ (Allgemeine Betriebserlaubnis) or in worst case this Part got no „Allgemeine Betriebserlaubnis“ you habe go Go the TÜV „Technischer Überwachungsverein“ and they Check if this Part realy fits and is Safe and so on. The ,you have Go Play about 100 to 300 € and ist will be „German Corect“ registered in the „Fahrzeugschein“ . THIS Is the only simliar long term in comparison „vehicle registration“. On the other hand it‘s still allowed (only partial) to drive on the „Autobahn“ without speedlimit 😁 ( I guess everyone knows Autobahn 😜)

From all G- Wagon models, the German Bundeswehr Wolf is still the sexiest. Leather Interieur, walnut wooden Dashboard, etc. is no configuration for a heavy duty Offroad Car! Even the early 460 Models are a little bit similar to the Military Version. Herzliche Grüße aus Deutschland.

No it was designed for Iran military for the king of Iran. 3000 was built and ready to deliver but because of revolution it was not delivered. So it was sold to public to recover the money spent on building it. In fact iran had the sole right to own for next 5 years after making it

The Iranian revolution ended just 2 days after the production in Graz has started so I don’t think they had any time to build them.
