Dude serious respect for actually building your own motor!
This is definitely the most badass build vid I've seen. Deadly engine, deadly cinematography and deadly soundtrack. Well done...
hands down the most beautiful thing ive ever seen in my life...and it went into a teal. I applaud you fellow 92 teal owner.
This is the coolest 7m video I've ever seen. Thanks for posting it. 7mpower still kicking ass on the street.
It was actually my first time rebuilding an engine, but I enlisted the help of those who know what they are doing. I'd have to add the costs up but at least 8k-9k if not more...a lot of it is overbuilt even for my goal of 500-600 hp. I'd of course recommend keeping the 7M...it's a good platform if you take your time and fix its shortcomings (oiling system, headgasket come to mind). As much as I love the 2J's, I'm always more impressed by a well done 7M.
beautiful car man. I'm buying another for a 7m build and one for 2j and this video really pumped me up for my 7m quest. 450whp is my goal for a daily
Awesome job looks and sounds perfect enjoy the fruits of your labor😎🙏
I'm gonna cry
Great build! Love the WORKS too! ;)
Nice video, and great build.
such a beautiful car man!
Amazing work
Nice, good build with turbos too.😄
Clean build man
It looks pretty, good job !
Nice build!
GOOD JOB! Sounds great!
Gorgeous engine ! !
I am also running Maft Pro but will be looking into a standalone very soon, Pro EFI is on the top of my list.
Thanks! I used a custom adapter from the same guy that made the intake manifold.
thumbs up when the car started and daaaaaaam its sounds good
that thing is a monster!
sick ass build on of the best 7m build vid ive seen in awhile on youtube flawless bro update youtube with all your dyno runs and drags......
Хорошо собрал!
Great video
Nice! Musta felt like giving birth coming out into that nice warm sunlight for the first time running.
This is awesome!
she sounds amazing
Awesomeness
Very clean!
Installed it as one unit. Coat the crank snout in anti-seize, heat the center section of the damper with a torch, and use a dead blow hammer to get it on.
Great job, be sure to get some driving vids of it! I wanna hear it scream!
do you have a list for your build? specs, wite tucks, etc? very clean job man i like it a lot
nice piece of information
OMFG THAT IS A BIG TURBO
that was amazing
my toyota 4M :) i feel she started it all.
Thanks for the video
I need to do this kind of a repair on my dad's Supra, 91 turbo I think it is, engine looks very similar. Head gasket blown, possible heads too.
Wes did some of the work (fuel sump, oil pan modification, and exhaust) but Seth did the TPS adapter. I believe the Q45 setup is a bit different. I'll see if I can dig up some pics.
Yes, that's the exhaust (turbo) manifold. A "regular" exhaust manifold routes the exhaust gasses straight out the tail pipe. A turbo manifold routes them through the turbo before they exit through the rest of the exhaust.
Nice. Clean, I hope the engine is in tact still
whats the full build list and hows it holding up now?
Congrats! That is fucking amazing
The 7mGTE was the largest turbo version of the "M" series, that popped up in 1987 with the Supra Turbo. The Toyota M series started in 1965 as a 2.0 IL6 engine and, by in large, Toyota kept that same design up to the 7M-GTE and 7M-GE. They had several different variations over the years with different bore and strokes, major block changes and what not. If anything, it's the other way around and the RB series was built off the Toyota concept of the M Series. Both are fantastic engines though.
Legend heart 🤤
i flinched when i saw the turbo
it's power full.
where did u get the belts to go with the titan motorsports that connect to the alternator and stuff
Stock block, just bored/honed for the pistons and line bored/honed for the bearings. Stock crank, just polished and balanced. Pistons are Titan Motorsport street pistons.
Where did you get the turbo manifold
when i saw that exhaust mani fold. OOOOHHHHH
Awesome build man, its beautiful. i was just wondering how hard it would be to build something like this just the way you did ( only thing is my garage ceiling is low ). and how much it cost you approx.? much appreciated, thanks!
It was a custom one-off manifold made by one of the members on the forums.
Walaboro The engine line up is 7mgte -> 1jz-gte -> 2jz-gte The 7MGTE is an old engine, but don't assume that just because it is old that it is slow. Most ppl only like the 2jz because of its bhp capability and yes they are a bit expensive because of their horsepower capability. All in all, a 7mgte is an excellent engine :)

Why did you make a list of your preference over engines? Nobody asked.

okay :/ No one asked for your negative/neutral comment

my apologies then. it was just a case of pointing out a fact about the motor
How much did it costed you to built it ?
7M FTW
my motivation
Both the intake and exhaust manifolds are sethron manifolds. I'm currently using the stock ECU with a Maft Pro. I'm going to hit the limit with that though, so a Pro EFI is probably in the near future.
Great video! What is the color code for your paint? I've always loved that color and I'm pretty sure that's a stock paint option if I'm not mistaken.
Started from the bottom now we here.

Precioso tío
Since you seem to know the 7m engine very well I have one question: does the hollow space between the engine block and the front plate has a connection to the oil sump? I am just replacing the head gasket and some dirt got in that gap between the front plate and engine block and now I wonder if I have to take the front plate of to clean behind it or I can just ignore it because that will go no where where it can cause damage and harm my engine.
Don't worry it's coming. She's off the road for the winter, but is getting tuned on AEM and methanol injection in the spring!
Amazing job, definitely no short cuts taken on this build. Is that a Ron R FFIM? Who made the exhaust manifold? What ECU are you using? I love seeing these kind of 7M builds. Can't wait to see more videos!!!!
first of all...amazing job on the build. you look like you really know what your doing. i had a questions and was hoping you could give me an answer. i was wondering about what it cost to do this current build of yours? im torn between building the 7m or going 2j. any suggestions?? thanks alot and again. great build! the car is amazing as well
what's type of the cam gears are those?
What do u have cam gears set at ??
truly a beautiful car. nice work. how long did this take?
How did you install the ATi Damper? With everything on or the center 1st?
What intake manifold is that? What brand?
It's a custom one-off manifold by one of the forum members.
cool
what exhaust manifold is that ? looks good
How did you build that FFIM?
was the block crank n pictons stock or not??
seriously want to know what it did on the dyno
So clean damn where did you get it ?
Is that a painted block ? which paint ? color ?
How much Horse Power when finished?
3:20 is that a exhaust manifold? What is the difference between exhaust manifold and turbo manifold.
Good engine 2JZ

Where did you buy this manifold ? j got supra to...thanks.
is your turbo big enough
How long did it took you to build it.? how much power you carry :o
very nice build, I'm am looking to do the same with my 89' Targa but I cant seem to find a cheap used 7MGTE. old block cracked and I scrapped the block only. Can anyone suggest where I can find a used engine????

I have a 7m block as a back up that I can sell its refreshed new rings and bearings from TX let me know
the 92's stock go faster then the 93's,this is toyotas best engine they made in the early 90s

armytaskforce11x uh mk3 supra 1987-1992 stock is slower thsn 93-98 u can even look at the specs on google on multiple sources...
I ran my main and rod clearances on the loose side/slightly over Toyota spec to account for any block/crank flex and I use 40wt oil to account for it. I'm mainly on Supramania, username arknotts. Good luck with your build!
What intake is that if you don't mind me asking? Going with a KKK 88mm turbo
@arknotts586

It's just a generic 45° aluminum bend with an AEM dryflow filter.
Ahaha im in the same position, im gonna buy a complete 7mgte and replace the headgaskets, then from there just replace everything. I got a 4m right now, sounds beautiful but its slow. 2jz are expensive to buy upgrade and maintain, but they are worth it. I got a 74 Corona mark 2 Coupe. What you building?
very true! glad to hear you have your head on straight to. lol a 7M is just as good as a 2JZ if its rpoperly built for the power. What clearences did you run? you on the forums at all? Ive got 13k into my 7m now, waiting to start her up soon i hope. going for 700-800 whp, what ever my clutch can handle for now. :)
Nice video man! Cant help but to ask, what oil pump did you end up using? stock toyota??
@arknotts586
9 жыл бұрын
Yep, OEM Toyota just shimmed to bump the pressure a little bit.
But are they practically the same thing?
Were did you buy the intake manifold and weres the altinator???!

altenator has been dropped to the stock ac position to make room for the ffim.
Thats not time lapse, that guy is Superman.
sweet i like seeing m series motors being done right, but why the hell build a monster like that and run stock ecu? time for a standalone to make some real power bro
how did you move the alternator down? did you make the mounts yourself?

Strange how little oil was used during assembly.
