I was there! The only Supercross race I’ve ever been to. I was in the Navy and stationed in San Diego at the time.
At the end of the race when the fan stormed the track lol during the Bradshaw interview
I still believe the Damon Bradshaw of 1992 could run with a prime McGrath.

Oh sure. I bet RJ and Bailey would have also. We can say McGrath was prime when RC beat him. After that, he wasn't. :) Those guys would not have let Jeremy sprint into a comfortable lead, (for more than a few races), and McGrath would have to push for the entire race. Rc was just the first to make him do that generally. But, even with a entire generation of champions retired, you still don't win 72 races in the mid-late 90's, (about double the guy with the 2nd most wins),---unless all the champs are retired and you are buying the beer at the river parties. :)

I remember when Damon came back after he abruptly retired, with McGrath winning SX raced. Jeremy was asked, "Are you worried about Damon coming back?" His answer was "No, not really. I don't see that fire in his eyes that he used to have." Paraphrasing of course.

@@EarthSurferUSAWhat Michael Jordan is to basketball, Jeremy is to supercross. It's just that I have a few '93 supercross races that I still watch every now and then. Damon was different from the year before.

@@EarthSurferUSA Round 2 of the '96 supercross series. Damon was on the podium. He rode a great race to finish second but you could see when he was being interviewed that the intensity he had in the early 90's was no longer there.

Lmao. He couldn't even beat Stanton, who was nowhere NEAR the SX rider McGrath was, but he's going to run with the Jeremy of 1996 huh? 🤣😆👍 Damon of 1992 was just like Ezra Lusk of '98/'99: flashes of speed, but too inconsistent and crashed too much
