1992 Audi V8 Quattro DTM - Pure Engine Sounds @ Goodwood Festival of Speed
Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары
During the 2022 Goodwood Festival of Speed, I have filmed this amazing 1999 Audi Quattro V8 DTM. Audi developed a Group A competition version of the Audi V8 for entry into the Deutsche Tourenwagen Meisterschaft (DTM) (German Touring Car Championship) auto racing series equipped with a 462HP 3.6L V8 engine and 6-speed manual transmission. Enjoy the video.

Dash and door panels had to be from the original road going car. In the audi museum videos they talk about having to build the roll cage into the door cards etc.
This V8 sounds insane

Just bought one of these and I love it, goes well with my URS6
Golden era of DTM!
I have this as my tamiya body i rlly do love the audi v8 touringwagen
This would have been awesome racing in Australia against the Group A R32 Skyline, it would have been more competitive than the RS500 and M3.
💪Audi Work Quattro Insane!!
Yesss I've been waiting for a video on this car thank you so much! 🤩

The biggest question I have, is..."I wonder if the engine has more intake/exhaust valves, than the chassis has control arms 🤔
👍🤙
Why does the exhaust pipe look pixelated out? Lol
It must have really rubbed BMW & Merc the wrong way to get spanked by an Audi limo twice in the DTM. Made a mockery of the M3 EVO and 190E EVO cars when they showed up with their biggest car with no aero and won…😂

and Audis placed 1,2 and 3 if I remember ….oh and they had to carry ballast as well lol

They would have been spanked by the Nissan R32 GTR but Nissan never ran in the DTM. Audi should have raced this car in Australia.

@@MasterChief37 I think Nissan never raced because during that time DTM largely stayed to its German roots....both in manufacturers as we as locations...it did race in other places in Europe but largely based in Germany. I think much later (so 2010 onwards?) that the DTM rules were looking more like the SuperGT series and as such DTM and SuperGT signed an agreement and a new DTM series was created and raced that had Japanese manufacturers including Nissan....where they raced at Japanese circuits. Before this, DTM was largely a German only affair.

@@friktionrc DTM until 93 was run under Group A rules so Nissan could have run it.

@@MasterChief37 So why didnt they? I'm guessing if the rules were such they could take part but didn't, I wonder if they thought the competition was a bit too close for their liking...or perhaps, didnt suit their wider company goals at the time (so piggy back of any marketing to get more customers in that market etc)? Not trying to be argumentative..I'm a huge Nissan fan, (and tp be fair motor racing fan in general) ....but just trying to work out what barriers (whether internal or external) were there to stop them from taking part...as like has been said the Nissan got the name 'Godzilla' for a good reason.
