Say all you want about modern 4 strokes if you've never witnessed a 500 two stroke starting grid you've never lived.

I really miss the 500cc two-strokes. You needed a set of balls big enough to haul in a dump truck to race one those. ✊

The 90s! Lots of abstract shapes & neon colors.whose idea was all that

It was a weird time, fashion wise; all the companies were churning out day - Glo , neon eyesores; I used to have fox MX pants, with zebra stripes, spider web, loud colors, all on the same pants. Ive toned things down, now I have gold Fox pants w/ burgundy trim.mmmm, classy!

abstract shapes, like modern transformer, broken bird beak fenders with arrow tips on the ends? That garbage does not belong on a functional dirt bike. In fact, abstract art can not be recognized because nobody knows what it means, not even the artist. I swapped for a 2014 front fender and cut that stupid arrow off the back of my fender. Looks so much better. Now for side panel surgery and a silencer that is not trash can big. We are actually living the stupid era of MX now.

Wasn’t he known for kinda having a bad attitude? Don’t get upset, legit question from stuff I heard and I’m not saying it’s for sure true. Just heard that. Regardless of attitude he sure was fast!

So was I. Which year was it they had the wet tee shirt contest that ended up in some of the girls showing all of it off? I was there 89,90, and 91 and can’t recall which year it was. I know the following year there was no wet tee shirt contest because those girls took everything off! My buddy came with me and he apparently didn’t get out much (we were really young and with my Dad) and I’ll never forget the look on his face! Lol.

this is the race where "mike healey" turned up on a factory ktm 500,in an interview in about 2020 he said he turned up here and told bayle that bayle will win the 500cc championship and that he helped him win it by making stanton crash out every time he was near him and that he was on the podium every race.mike is nothing but a liar he never was on the podium at any of the 1991 500cc rounds.
