I remember Tony Whitney and Ted Laternus. Drivers Seat was good show.

I miss the days when this would be considered an appropriate 2nd car for a young family of four. So small, simple, and materially efficient. Now everyone needs an enormous, 5500lb pound pickup for a run to the grocery store or to drop the kids off at school. My how things have changed....

Could not agree more! The size of vehicles is crazy, part of it are regulations of course, but the fact is so many "small" cars are no longer available. I usually shake my head seeing 1 person in their full-sized pickups and SUV's.

@aquaticko IKR that’s what I’m saying it’s dumb AF. When I was shopping for a good first car a couple years ago, I wanted something spacious that didn’t weigh a crap ton, and good good gas mileage. I ended up with a 2006 Toyota Matrix, which I’ve absolutely loved. 155,000 miles and running strong 💪 crank windows and only power option is A/C. My favourite simplistic combination! It’s been awsome and I hope to drive it ANOTHER 155K miles. I barely even use the cargo space in the Matrix, more space than a lot of today’s small SUV’s

These always reminded me of the AMC Pacer from behind.

I used to own the same model but 1990 LX 1.8ltr manual, I replaced that car for a Mazda 3 in 2006. Both of my Mazda's I owned are RUST BUCKETS. They are easy on gas and maintenance.

Upset because they couldn’t afford a new car at the time, so make fun of styling, that somehow looks good in 2023, and we’re also my favorite designed toy cars in the 90s
