1990 YAMAHA VIRAGO 535 RESTORATION

A friend from Belgium found a 1990 Yamaha Virago 535 sitting neglected in a wood working shop collecting dust sadly. He bought it and brought the motorcycle to me to restore. I'm no big time mechanic but a huge motorcycle enthusiast and have gotten a knack with restoring them, so acquired thus enough mechanical knowledge to work on them (that and I'm a qualified motorcycle technician...failed to mention that before)
So here's my work on restoring this beautiful cruiser, with some help from Laurent my bike mechanic buddy who got it running.

These are great bikes. Thanks for a great restoration video. I also have one of these, but after three years say in the corner of my garage, I decided to turn it into a bobber during 2020. Subscribed

Thanks. I was severely limited with time and money but managed to get it done more or less in the end.
Great Job in restoring and painting. It sounds good. But I was a bit sad in the end when I saw that big cloud of blue smoke coming out of the exhaust...

Yes, it works but in the end we found we'll need to do a top end overhaul. I advised the owner and he will be moving forward with that and the mechanic.

I was also severely handicapped with tools and parts as I live on an island in the middle of the Indian ocean where importing is super expensive. 😅

Update, it was the fuel. Put new fuel in and it didn't smoke at all.
Wow, I have a Virago 535 I am working on! WWould you be able to share where you got some of the parts? i.e the rear light and indicators, pannier mounts etc. ?

Hiya, well mostly from ebay usa dude. Just browsed until I found things that worked. Hope that helps.
