1990-11-26 Buffalo Bills vs Houston Oilers(Kelly vs Moon)

I won't be posting the regular season game from 1992 between these 2 because it was a meaningless game without starters.

I recall that this game had the best single example of athleticism I ever saw (but it is not in this edit). Believe it was in the third, Oilers ball. Bruce Smith drove hard inside, then did one of his signature 360 rolls across the body of the tackle to the outside. Delayed handoff went for the hole between LG and LT. Smith saw this, continued to roll completely around the tackle and threatened to close that hole. Running back saw this, and popped around Smith's right to take it outside. Smith came to a complete stop and jumped/fell backwards to get hands on him and make the tackle. Four moves on one play.

When the Oilers beat the Bills on MNF they completed a week where every single 1st place team lost.

The '90s Oilers were one of those teams that could beat every team in the league and lose to every team in the league on any given day. This was a REALLY good Buffalo team and the Bills were heavy favorites, and they stood toe-to-toe with them all the way.

I remember this like it was yesterday. Not the overall score, but the fact it was a Monday night game, and the Oilers had won and looked good doing it.

One of the biggest problems with this era Buffalo Bills ,, Couldn't stop the run,, In this game ,, Alasnzo White ran for under 500yds thru 11 weeks,, This night runs for over 150,, Every running back always had a big day against this "D".

The Bills and Oilers played some damn good games against each other in the late 80's-early 90's. Week 2 of 1989 in the Astrodome which the Bills won 47-41 in overtime was a fun game to watch. And of course the Comeback in the 92 AFC Wild Card game is still maybe the most improbable win in NFL history. Maybe not the most improbable but definitely among the very best games ever played

1992 regular season meeting was far more meaningful than you realize. The Bills needed to win to clinch home-field advantage throughout the AFC playoffs. They failed, and didn't even win the AFC East. They settled for a wild card.

I knew that it was a fumble at the end with my naked eyes as I was watching it live, but the officials didn't for whatever reason.

There was a player in this game who appeared in 14 consecutive pro bowls. That ties the mark for most all time. Can you name him?

Of course I can! It took me a second, but knowing it had to be a lineman, I figured it was Bruce Mathews. That was my team, and I still would love to see those uniforms again!

What a fantastic job you did in cutting away and doing the entire game in twenty four minutes.
