Glad to see this! My VHS tape which I originally taped this program gave up the ghost years ago. Thanks for the upload!

Tim Ryan doing this, yet he didnt do figure skating when CBS had the olympics. His services were needed with his expertise in downhill skiing instead.

Incredible to see Witt win with only 3 triples and 1 double axel, she almost fell on the double loop, she was really lucky again as at the OG, as beautiful as her Carmen program is. Then again, Thomas barely landed 2 clean triples, so it should've been Manley's win, with Ito 1st in the FP, Manley 2d, and Trenary 4th in the FP as she landed 4 triples (but her last toe doesn't count, not in combination).

@@waynehentley4332Katarina skated a Professional Program (low Technique, Showy Posing) in an AMATEUR COMPETITION!! The European Judges were in her "hip Pocket."

The hug was good! Phew! Katarina won because she had to, Debi won the Bronze because she lowered the barre on herself. She didn't believe she could do it... she could've kicked Katarina's whas'name but she didn't believe. I'm a former African American skater and she was amazing BUT deep down, when it came down to it, she didn't know WHY or for WHOM she was skating. If you don't know that then you'll never win over your fundamental darkness.

Debi was distracted and disinterested here? Didn't she get engaged or married shortly after? After she won in 1986 she seemed to lose her fighting spirit! She came across as a spoil sport with an attitude! She was overmarked here but they wanted to give her a medal!

DEBI choked. That's it. No other deeper reasons. After the Olympics, DEBI didn't care anymore. She Gave Up. DEBI didn't have the ❤ of a True Champion.

I’m from the former GDR and of course Katarina Witt was my idol. But I really admire Debi for her unique style on the ice, her fantastic jumping ability and her very modern look. She really was a taff competitor.

She won the worlds because of it! And no one in the 80th, beside Midori, could jump so powerful!

Yes but how many powerful consistent performances did she have? Asking for a friend!!

Oh she had many! For example the 1986 nationals (SP and LP), 1986 worlds (SP and LP), 1987 World (LP), Skate Canada 1987 (SP and LP), Nationals 1988 (SP and LP), and of course her SP at Olympics and Worlds in 1988.

And by the way: I’m talking about her powerful jumping ability - the energy and especially the high she got on her jumps!

Orser was amazing, too bad he couldn't win the title in spite of winning the FP. Browning should've been a clear 2d in the FP, Boitano didn't have enough difficulty.

He missed his quad and 3A but Boitano won fair and square when you add in his CF!
