1988 Mack CF Fire Engine Restoration | First time Pumping in 10 Years!
Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
In this episode, we pump water with the truck for the first time in more than 10 years. The engine was sold by the city around 2010, but before that it sat outside, untouched, for an unknown amount of time. We fill the pump and drain all the dirt, rust, and sediment, and are able to flow some water! Follow along and make sure to stay tuned for the next episode.
As always, thanks for watching!

Thank you! I don't post regularly so that could be why
Looks like a Hahn body. Hahn built the bodies for Mack back in the day. Mack in Allentown PA and Hahn in Hamburg PA, not that far away from each other. The pump panel gives it away, thats a Hahn pump panel layout. Gezzzz, so simple to operate unlike todays nightmare rigs. KISS ..Keep It Simple Stupid ... where did that go?

any reason to take the engine for a ride is a good reason!!
Put some Palmolive dish washing soap in the tank and work the pressure governors and valves, that will make the work easier

Sounds good, thanks for the help brother!
You are correct to have the tank fill and tank to pump open sense you aren’t flowing water actively but to build pressure easier you need to have the tank fill about 1/2 way closed. It’ll build pressure at a much lower RPM
That’s so cool
Who wants a mustache ride ?! Lol !! Great job brothers! Only question is where you at a rifle range?! What was all that banging ?
Great job!

If you want the rust to disappear fill the pump with distilled water and circulate the pump cap the valves and open need approximately 60 gal..
Hey i don’t know if your interested i have a 1991 pierce arrow 95Ft aerial platform for sale truck has 20k miles 3k hours on engine 1k hours on aerial 68 pump hours I’m in Montgomery county pa, everything works perfect
The guy slamming something sounds like music
put it in pressure mode, relief valve closed and tank to pump opened
The gauges probably aren’t broken. Those little thumb screws basically turn the gauges on and off

Wow...that makes complete sense now, thanks for the help!
We used to clean the bottom of our fire trucks with kerosene and rags until the bottom was nearly as shiny as the top.
Well it was a well built engine.

@@SeanGilmore92 My only problem is all those solenoids. The volunteer fire department of which I am a member had an FMC fire truck built on a Ford chassis, it had lots of solenoids and if one went bad it shut everything down.
