1988 James is such a gift. I wish he hadn't blown out his voice, keeping up the trajectory of his old voice would have been amazing.

It was more he stopped sounding that way because he learned how to sing that's the funny thing about Dave Mustaine though he has great vocal technique he just doesn't have a good voice for singing but the music he makes it works

He didn’t really learn any new techniques he basically just stopped straining his vocal chords to prevent blowing out his voice. That’s why his voice lost the grit and sounded cleaner. On load, reload and to some degree some kind of monster he strains his vocals on the record but from 92 onwards he stopped straining his vocal chords for live performances.

This is exactly what I've been imagining it sound like since 2008, thank you!

Of all the AI voices for Hetfield 88 is easily the best one. I can’t believe how much more balls his old voice gives their newer music. @@krohn7master Cool I checked him out doing mouth for war. I wish I knew how to record because I can kill both Phil amselmo and hetfield before his voice blew out. That guy is definitely talented but he’s not spot on. Tbh not just saying this to inflate my ego but I haven’t heard any vocal covers online that can nail them yet the way I can I can do like pretty well 1:1 impression of each I’m not a very talented guy but I am really good at singing metal with that strained vocal chord thing they do and im also pretty good impersonating and honing in on the exact sound of someone’s voice. Especially voices like Phil anselmo and 1988-1991 Hatfield… they’re actually very similar that’s probably why I can do them both
