I'm happy everyone enjoys this. Memories. The irony is that the Corvette Challenge had to be created because in the 80s, one man and this team of rebels beat everyone else out there, every manufacturer, including every other Corvette team, in every race. We're talking sometimes by 70 laps. However, his team was banned from racing in the Challenge. That was fine. GM gave him 2 Z28 Camaros and he went out and beat everyone with those cars as well. That man is Tommy Morrison and over a 25+ year era, his team included some of greatest drivers who've ever driven in the history of any racing. They are the ones who broke all of those records in the 80s, including Bobby Carradine who was name mentioned below. He was a hell of a driver and one of the nicest dudes I've ever known. And let's not forget the historic 1991 FIA World Records with 2 stock ZR1s that are still standing. The Corvette Challenge was a show. Yes it gave others a chance to race, but they're not the ones who put Corvette on the map for racing. Morrison is now in the Corvette Hall of Fame where he belongs. You either hate him or you love him, but you have to give him respect for what he did for America's Sports Car. Just a country boy who grew up on Race Street in Glasgow, Ky - about 20 miles from where they now build Corvettes. You can't make that stuff up.

Dandypanty I remember one of those races where Tire got loose and a Corvette hit it head-on and that car got launched driver was okay one of the weirdest crashes ever

He was a really good race car driver in the 80s and 90s and competed in many classes! Many interviews of him out there from those races, he was a knowledgeable guy who talked like he was down to earth. Then he got brainwashed and somehow need up the way he is today. I really don’t think it was his own choice, but a marketing decision of his horrible family that made a zombie out of him and now controls him.

To be in the US in the 1980’s.. wow!!! The Corvette C4, the girls, the weather, the heavy rock bands and festivals… owww you don’t know how lucky you were. Yes being a Brit I’d love to have lived in the states in the 1980’s. The Corvette challenge was created because they were beating all other manufacturers sports cars. They beat Porsche’s 944 turbo 29-0 they dominated them so much and had to be put in their own race car series. These race cars still had air con and radios in them..😂😂😂

After watching this, I do not think I would want to be on track with Bobby Carradine. Seems a bit reckless and definitely doesn't mind damaging other peoples equipment.
