I just watched this and was thinking that his phrasing of "Rusty, you're blind..." pretty much destroys the line. Who the hell is that guy? He also can't act AT ALL.

After the bow and during the camera sweep, you can very briefly catch Andrea McArdle (original 1977 Broadway Annie) at about 4:28 (she’s in between and just behind the performer wearing bright red chest headlights and the one with the dark single side pony tail). Later on in the show during a long medley with many of the night’s Tony performers and nominees, she appeared on her skates with one of her Starlight castmates doing a very brief duet and some impressive skate/dance moves.

I was lucky enough to see this 3 times in its opening 2 years in London. My first time was just outside the inner track and then second time inside the inner track. Third time was nearer the back. I note here there isn't barriers up near the crowd - in London there was these perspex things that came up to protect you in case of any high speed roller-skating mishaps! It really was the most extraordinary thing I've ever seen, and we used to listen to the soundtrack at home REALLY loud! (" CONTROL CONTROL....!!").

I visited London in 1992/3ish for the first time and initially was reluctant to go to the show. It turned out been a memorable experience and I remember leaving emotionally uplifted by the performance. Could anyone suggest where I can find this track by these original artist? Andrew Lloyd's recording on Apple Music starts off with it then suddenly jumps to another performance. I have it on a old CD but would like try get a digital copy. Or if there is a old DVD of this performance that would be a bonus.

I actually saw this at Tuacahn, which was the first time I had ever seen it. Had been listening to the music for ages but that was that first time I actually manage to make it to a performance. It was quite wonderful for they went all out including making parts of it 3D (i.e they had a 3D Screen from some of the Race Scenes which was quite awesome.) Really want to find a place to see it again. Too bad its no longer in Vega. /sigh/ That said I heard this performance was one of the best of the lot. Thanks for posting it.

I’m just gonna say it: I double dare Broadway to make a revival of this show in 2024. Will it happen? Definitely not. Why? Given the fact that the current climate of modern audiences are softer than Charmin toilet paper, the set itself is extremely difficult to put on and how physically demanding the show is for performers to do, there’s no way that Broadway in this day and age will have the balls to revive this show

Smh. I guess you're entitled to your own opinion. But why are you here? You have to actually select to view this video. If you think this musical is so bad... again, why are you here? I for one love musicals and was very fortunate to see this in London in 1996. As a 80s NY kid, seeing ads and commercials for this show was exciting. It seemed like a movie. Then it was gone. When i saw this in 1996, even at age 20, I was a kid all over again!
