I arrive in Wellington an head straight up towards Petone and onto Woburn to meet a friend. Same angle view as last video which isn't the best due to youtube blurring tool not working so good, so out of frustration I used something else which is also not so good. Part of video is sped up and have added a bit of Dire Straits!
I'd imagine this is a similar view to what former Prime minister David Lange (1984-1989) had as he traveled back to Vogel House in Upper Hutt, albeit for a very short time as he soon moved into an apartment near the Beehive where he stayed during his time as PM. He would have traveled in the very same type of LTD as this and perhaps listened to this song haha, as he was a Dire Straits fan! Enjoy :)

You probably would've been within 5 minutes drive of Valley Flyer's depot at Waterloo station. If you were there a full week earlier there was a fully purple fleet (apart from a few stragglers of the go Wellington kind). Nowadays it's full of 11.190's that aren't to be moved (sign on window), the airport flyer K280's and probably all of runcimans SL202/SL243's (even one still with Waka Pacific decals.)

techladdie oh that is a shame, would have got some good pics! But I was on limited time an visited the omnibus society an caught up with Jeran, we looked at some metlink new buses parked up near rail tracks, my car had to be left on on all day as risk of not starting again haha, alternator issues so that kind of limited doing stuff an I didn’t record anything further in Wellington unfortunately. 😀🚌

Fair enough, would be a pain to be stranded with a sketchy alternator. I've visited the depot quite a few times recently due to its location at the station whilst I wait for the train, but the fences can be a pain in the rear, so I just hold the camera high above the fence and hope for the best some times :) I've got close to 250 photos from both before and after contract change in Wellington, including some of the Waterloo depot and everywhere in between. It takes quite a long time to get them on flickr if you factor in all the descriptions to write, all the info to gather, etc. At the rate I'm going, I doubt I'll get them all uploaded before the end of August!

sorry mate i missed this comment... well with flickr now asking for a paid subscription next year that work might have been waste of time. I feel I might be forced to take subscription, so much effort put into photo comments, tags etc. Hope you are well, the LTD is still sitting, not used it for months an seems to have lost all its transmission fluid. Likely a slow leak or another problem, for now will not worry too much about it :)
