My all time favorite college team, the 87 Hoosiers. Alford was one of the all time great college shooters.

It was a good team.
Love The Purdue Boilermakers. Gene Keady is a awesome coach too.
thank you for posting this game! hard to believe new castle lost to anderson with alford missing a 1 and 1. troy lewis vs alford in high school i was there
Is their anything more basketball than this game this year...just feels right
I was at this game
The year Indiana would win the national championchip while it would be another 37 years for Purdue would to a final 4.
IIRC I saw the end of this game due to the fact the station that did Big 10 basketball game in that night(my hometown didn’t have cable yet) I also. Remember my high school had a later than normal basketball practice due to our girls team playing at 2:30 in the district tournament and the band playing in that game(small school and all but one basketball player was in band as well)
Very cool! I've been hoping to watch this game again for years. Do you happen to have the 1988 and 1992 Indiana at Purdue basketball games?

Not sure, will check.
My grade school teammate was the back up point guard for Indiana. He suppose to have been the next Isaiah Thomas. He was supposed to have competed for the starting point guard the following year, but Indiana got Jay Edward's ( Mr. Indiana) and it was over.

Yes, his name is Tony Freeman, same high school as Isaiah also all- state. One of the best points in Illinois but Jay Edward's was a 6'4 point guard and if I am not mistaken he came out after his sophomore campaign.

@@earlpurnell1338Jay Edwards aka the Marion Masher was a shooting guard...Lyndon Jones was the IU pt guard...sadly Edwards got involved with drugs and destroyed his career...

@@earlpurnell1338I’m pretty sure Tony Freeman was past the Jay Edwards days. Jay left in 1989 and Freeman was in the middle 90s. Jay was a shooting guard. Update: I’m wrong I was thinking of Michael Herman. Yeah I forgot about Tony he was the short point guard.
Im a Hoosier fan but that loss was OK by me because anderson indiana is my home town Troy Lewis plus Steve affords town was 25 mins away from anderson central indiana then was full on basketball a good chance that area was the best all around then very proud and strong fan of central indiana in those times
Thank you! Do you have the game at Bloomington that year?

I have it on VHS/Burned DVD!
How about that national anthem. My goodness
i remember illinois blew 22pt leads to iowa and purdue this season or maybe it was the 86-87 season ... illini also beat indiana! the BIG10 may been what the SEC in football is bk in the 80s ... legendary coaches like keady, knight, fisher, heathcoat, henson, dr tom, gary williams, lute olsen ,
Two good teams.
Look at all that real Black and Gold - I wish those were still Purdue's colors instead of black and beige.
I feel like I should have a nintendo controller in my hands.
Always loved how coach knight called them "peardue".
No tatoos...No hairdoos....No kneeling to the Nat'l Anthem....Defense...Fundamentals.....Good Freethrow Shooting....No 30ft 3pt shots...Objective by the Offense is 5 passes for a layup.....Can we go back in time please.....

Such a terrible commentary line up for this game....should have had the A team calling this game....not the C league
The absolute worst officiating I've ever seen.
