@daytonpaul One thing to remember is you should check with ur DMV because any exhaust before the rear axle is illegal. So if you have inspections that wouldnt be a good idea. Thanks for the comment tho. Your right about the mufflers. Glasspacks are the smallest i can think of. But im just not big on glasspacks. Im a flowmaster kinda guy. For added Clearance 2.5 inch pipe would work ideal for a stock or modified car.

sounds like thunder! nice i didnt know irocs came with 305s til just a few minutes ago i looked em up. i thought they were all 350s. i used to have a 89 305tbi and a 90 v6 which sucked but it got me to school and back. now i got a 81 z28 with a 350 4bbl. gotta love camaros man

I love the look of the 80 series. The muffler looks attractive under the car and the pipes are really nice too. I have the american thunder system with 80 series and dual stainless 3 inch pipes. Sounds awesome like yours.

sounds great. i hate how people say the 305 is slow but its still quick, lights my tire up (since mines a limited slip lol) and rumbles at idle, good enough for me :]

fireman thats not bad.I would not worry too much on the miss fire it could be just a fowled plug.Your smok'n may also be a an adjustment or carb cleanout. If its injected just pop a little cleaner in the tank and see how she is after a good run down the highway.Keep her at 60 and just cruise and enjoy the ride. Then take a look and see what you get. Don't jump the gun just yet, replace the wires and plugs and see what you bet before getting more involved. Looks good and sound good..

@fireman01723 To run duels the pipes have to run right under the rocker panel with low profile mufflers and the exhaust either have to have dumps with no tail pips or the pipes exit infront of the rear wheels. Basically any muffler rounder than a glasspack will rub every bump. A cat back is really the way to go and a 3 inch will flow plenty.

@TheChrisExtreme Yea the Tuned Ports had a computer. The first year was 1981. Im not sure what all you can do without changing the computer or making a new chip. Some of the 82-84 cars were carbed. Just depends on what you find.

Car sounds great! The best things you can do for exhaust note IMO is slap a decent sized cam in there and put some $90 headers on there from summit. My Trans Am came with a 305 which sounded decent, but once the headers were added it sounded as good as the 350 it sports now.

1985 Trans Am with the 305 and ws6 performance package. Im getting a holley intake and Edelbrock 750cfm electric choke on it, and hopefully this muffler. I wanted to do the whole shinanigans and put on long tube headers and true duals with flowmaster 10 series mufflers but it woudl be too expensive. Why not just spend 80 dollars on ebay and get a simple muffler to put on the back and still get great sound.

Yea might have been idk. Never used any oil but who knows. Only had around 95XXX miles. Doubt the motor is tired but either way it was still pretty fun. I have to say those lil 305s can scream. I traded the car in February of this year tho. So its has a new home. -Matt

Thats awesome man. Should post a video up of it. The book value on the iroc was around 5000 i think. On the 79 when i first got it was 9000 (based of clerks office) Ive seen clean 79s sell for 15K. Most clean irocs for about 8-10k. The 70-73 camaros go far north of 20k so they do have higher value than 80s camaros but just like everything else. With age comes value..
