1986 Ford LTL 9000 walk around and Ride along
Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары
Here I will introduce a 1986 Ford LTL 9000. This truck has a 400 3406B, 15 speed transmission and 3.73 rockwells, with Neway air ride. This is 1 of the nicest trucks I have ever driven in my 18 years or so I’ve driving all different trucks.

Very cool truck sir! Keep the classics alive. No DEF. No computer. No problems.
I love these trucks. My dad bought one just like this… an ‘86. His was originally navy blue. He drove for Bekins Van Lines at the time and painted the truck white with green stripes etc, and the frame was the same shade of green but metallic. His idea of a summer vacation was to pack all 6 of us (Himself, my mom, along with myself, my two younger brothers, and little sister) in that truck for a month. We went from the SE corner of the country all the way to Washington. We even packed and loaded a job on the sub base north of Seattle. He bobtailed the truck and took us all to a Mariners game. We got to watch Ken Griffey, Jr. play in his rookie season. Miss those days. I followed in his footsteps and drove trucks after I got out of the military. He passed in June ‘23. Proud to have followed in his footsteps. Thanks for sharing this!

Wow that must of been a beautiful truck. Those are great memories you have to. That is awesome you got to do that with your dad and family. I take my family as well we’ve done a few west coast turns together. I enjoy it very much. Sorry to hear about your dads passing. Thank you for your service and thank you for watching.
I was a fan of the LTL’s. Good looking truck. And you can NEVER go wrong with a Caterpillar and 15spd. Good luck with her bro.

Beautiful truck! Always loved the LTL 9000! Classic style and a gentleman’s truck.
Used to drive one just like it with a 425 cat and 15 speed with 370 rears. It was owned by m.c. distributors out of Pensacola fla. Carol Josey owned it. Best riding truck I ever drove, bar none. Outride every Pete and kw they owned.

Very nice original example of an LTL9000 there! Love the paint job and of course the 3406B power plant. Such a good looking (and sounding) truck. I agree that these were very underrated trucks - Ford really seemed to hit a home run with the LTL before they updated to the newer body style in 1998 (and sold the division).
Brings back memories, always thought they were nice trucks . have good luck with it .

Give me an old truck any day. The oldest truck where I work is a 2005 379. I was assigned a 2023 389 when I started the job. I didn't even make a week and was down with dpf problems. The boss put me in the 2005 while my truck was in the shop. A week later I told the boss to give that 389 to somebody else because I was staying in the 379. Those younger hands that don't know any better told me I was stupid. They think differently now when they're waiting for their truck to come out of the shop and I'm running up and down the highway making money. I've been in the 379 almost 6 months and we changed the fan clutch. That's it except for routine maintenance.

To me they are THE BEST. Gotta love old school tractors. 😂
I love all of the Louisville models!!! The LNT And the LTS were my absolute fav as dump trucks y uncle used to run them from 70 right to 82. I learned to drive on his 80 LNT 9000. Those dash boards were the best. Cockpit style everything right in front of you.
i can imagine it all fixed up and customized, sure is beautiful
Good looking truck! I have a soft spot for those less common trucks too. Chevrolet Bison and GMC General are couple conventionals I like, along with the COE Chevrolet Titan 90 and GMC Astro 95. Again good looking Ford!

Big horns are cool, for the life of me I can’t recall the books name, it was about a old timer that ran a big horn and his son rode with him. Read it in high school, my teacher recommended. Wish I remembered and some days Wish I stayed in school. Either way your mention of big horn reminded me of that book. Thank you for watching

Awesome, fresh paint, new hodge built half fenders, and it's show time !!!
That's a sweet ride.
I owned the exact same model and red paint set up except I opted for a 444 Cummins with custom compound turbos with propane injection on the back turbo ..jakes and a eaton 18 speed with overdrives…. And of course a spicy secret tuned fuel pump. I regret selling it.. but it went to a good owner just like yourself that loves and cares for them.👍🏻😉😃
She shines like a new penny. Back in its prime, there were just as many Fords if not more than Peterbilt and Kenworth combined
That Truck Is GORGEOUS !!!!!!!!
love it takes me back to when i learned to my first 1986 freightliner cabover i was freaking out my father inlaw put me behind the wheel of a set of RPS doubles now fedex ground and yes i been around awhile !

Damn good lookin ole gal. I always loved them trucks and that style. They just look tough.
Your attention to detail is impeccable!!!
A couple of observations: I always liked the look of the LTL, and I always noticed that Ford used a variation of that same grille on cars and pickups back in the day. And like you, I have a model of one on my shelf alongside my fleet of DCP trucks. Never got to drive any Ford Louisvilles, somehow always found myself in International and Freightliner. When Ford big trucks became Sterling they lost something. I dig your collection of older trucks, thanks for sharing.

Rather fitting for my daddy birthday miss u old man
My uncle back in the day had I think which was a 1971 AutoCar, but it was the "Michigan Special" Man that rig was a beast! Then he also had one that was in the 90s as well. He pulled trains being it.. Lead and pup trailers.. Sold boulders and stone. Talk about some OVERLOADED runs in those things.. LoL.. Bypassing scales all the way. I used to love riding with him as a kid when he made those runs.
Love them old trucks.
These trucks we're quite popular in Canada.

She's a Beauty !!
Funny how you said that you uave a scale model of the Ford LTL9000 conventional tractor on your shelf;as I am currently working on the AMT (formerly an Italeri kit) 1/24 scale Ford LTL9000 conventional tractor kit,I've added alot of scratch built details to the kit such as a CB radio & antennas on top of the mirrors, fuel pump, and have plumbed & wired the engine, transmission/transmission oil cooler, chassis, and made 3 pigtails, using Magic Stretch black 1mm diameter vinyl bead & jewelry stretch cord, scratch built 2 gladhands, and an electrical plug. I'm replicating the two tone paint scheme on the box art using some cheap craft acrylic paints as the solvent based and non-toxic waterbased acrylic hobby paints are prohibitively expensive;the chassis will be airbrushed with DecoArt Dazzling Metallics Festive Red,the hood, cab, and sleeper, will be airbrushed with DecoArt Extreme Sheen Ruby Red;then I will airbrush 2 coats of Testors Gloss Top Coat over the chassis, hood, cab, and sleeper,to permenantly seal everything and protect the pure acrylic craft paint from dust, humidity, and the suns harmful UVA/UVB rays. Then I will apply the metallic silver & red stripe decals to the model then airbrush 2 more coats of Testors Gloss Top Coat to permenantly seal the decals to the model, then glue on all of the chrome plated exterior parts, and the model is complete and ready for display on my shelf.

@@westernstar85 So your model is most likely one of those 1/24 or 1/16 scale diecast collectibles;which are a little more expensive than my 1/24 scale plastic model kit,as I paid $99.96 MSRP for mine which is just under the triple digit price range.I wish all of the plastic model kit manufacturers would come out with the Forld CL9000 COE in 1/25 and 1/24 scales;as the only examples of this iconic & rare cabover are cast resin kits, which cost well over $100.
Lucky bastard!!!
