1985 SEARS SUPER LOBO 1/10 RC BUGGY

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

In this episode i get my hands on a new old stock SEARS super logo rc buggy from 1985. I do an open box and run review of this legendary rc and as a bonus i add a top speed too. Not many of these around anymore in this condition so quite a pleasure for me to bring this to you a nearly 40 year old rc buggy that's never been driven. Super rare to see this as there's never been an unboxing and run review via top speed all in one video on KZread. So enjoy and subscribe so you never miss another rare rc unleashed on Lukes Vintage RC.Theres oh so many ahead..

This was my 1st RC Car!! I loved it as a child and it was rock solid reliable. Not sure where it eneded up but I just scored a super nice one off Ebay a couple weeks ago and as a bonus it came with a Royal Ripper!!! I have a ton of vintage RC stuff but not on your level. Im trying to collect all of the old 80s monster trucks. Have most of them including a Varicom Big Grizzly and all 5 of the Kyosho monster Trucks. I absolutely love your channel. Thanks!!! I used to hopelessly drool over the fancy RC cars in the Sears Wish Book each year, lol. I knew I'd never get one, but it didn't hurt to look, haha. And never count out old NiCd packs! I still have a Sanyo SCRC 1700 mAh NiCd pack from 1996 that still works fine!

Gosh, I loved RC back in the day. 47yrs old now, but still have my mint circa 1989ish Team Associated RC10. I've run it a couple times in recent years and it's still so much fun. I suppose that the new tech, better battery, ready to race stuff has buried the old school RCs; however, the experience of carefully building and tweaking the old school kits was such a fun and educational part of my younger years. Maybe there's still a market for it.

This was my first R/C car and these were expensive. My mom ordered it from the famous Sears 1987 Wishbook. It was $99.99 + $19.99 for a 7.2v NiCad, I got the 1 hour push button charger for $24.99 and a black and neon green Lobo carrying case for another $14.99. Everything was approx. $160 which is equivalent to $450 in today's dollars! $450!!

@jonthomas8487 I agree. The only difference between these and Tamiya solid rear axle RC's is the electronics. And those Tamiya's are regarded as hobby grade. I still reckon these chassis are superior with their trailing arm front suspension instead of the design Tamiya uses.

Hi, I was wondering if you might be able to help me out? I have two vintage RC Buggys from the 80’s, both NIB (not ”almost new” but actually NIB with unused decalsheets). Both boxes are in very good shape, not perfect but no tears or major damage. The first one is a Panda Monium (this one by Thunder Tiger according to the box and the instructions), yellow bodyshell and complete with decalsheet (in sealed original plasticitet bag), transmitter, charger, and original battery. Tires are still soft. The other one is an Academy Road Runner I. This one was sold assembled with motor and MSC but without radiogear. It is complete with decalsheet (in original sealed plastic bag) and original sealed bag with parts and screws for gear installation (servosaver and so on). Tires are still soft. I’ve had them for a while, but I’m not really a collector and personally I don’t think I can find it in my heart to actually run them. So I’m looking to sell them (or trade perhaps), problem is I have no clue how to put a value on them. I understand that these weren’t high end buggys then, and that their value now isn’t on par with with some of the more well known and sought after vintage buggys which can run up to and above 1000£ even in used condition, but there must be some value in them? Can you give me a ballpark figure for these two buggys? Regards! Anders Olsson

No offence, but this is 95% Tamiya Grasshopper. How is fully ripping someone else off special??

no offense taken your opinion is fine. The only problem is the architecture of these buggies are completely different. Idea maybe but there’s only a year apart 84vs85. Takes time for a company to design develop and yet alone distribute especially in the early 80’s. Many companies did have clones of GH ex: world engines Rockbuster, Academy Lazer, Mugen Manx and others but nikko f10 is special. Kinda legendary.
