Yes friend it was a genocide I was in class seventh I had a Sikh friend Manpreet Singh we were neighbour.we played badminton it was a sweet Sikh family.they had cut off their hairs and run for life.he told me horrible stories of Hindu mobs killing Sikhs in pogrom. There was curfew .I often told tales of how his had to run away for life.i was very frightened n surprised and it was difficult to believe.it was like something we saw in movies.It was a bad experience for me to listen all that from his mouth in my childhood.I pray that never happens again to anyone

Here is a story that i have heard from my father. My great grand father was an Ina soldier. He fought with the britishers as well as the Americans in ww2 in burma. His sikh friend gave his life in front of him saving his life becoz he was in superior position in Ina gandhi brigade. During the 1984 riots or genocide what ever u call it, that sikh friend's wife his son and son's wife came to kolkata to stay for 5 days. We welcome them. After that they went to punjab. Back then letters were exchange to communicate.but sadly my great grand father died in 85 . And we lost the connection with them. Don't know where r they now.

I still go to my naani's house and see the store where my naani's hindu family hid the sikh neighbours with lights off. Whenever someone came to ask, naanu would say "we dont know where the sikhs are they must have run away"....that store is still there it haunts me till today the atrocities.....it put himanity to shame

How come this was riots? It was a very well-planned one-sided attack on the Sikh community and thoroughly attacked Sikh Family houses. There was no attack on other people from the attacking side. Riots are between two parties or people from different parties. So please stop saying riots to the 1984 Delhi Sikh Genocide. Though It was by Congress Party people but also supported by BJP-led goons and duly supported by Delhi Police and other protective agencies.
