there's also a check ball in that little pump bowl, if it's stuck it want pump fuel into it

I started watching your videos because I had some interest in Nortons and you were working on a Norton. But I've never owned a Norton. In fact, I've never even ridden a Norton (but I'm open to offers!). So it's funny that now you've ended up working on a "83 Suzuki GS1100GK and a "83 XLX Sportster. I own a "82 Suzuki GS1100G and a "81 XLH Sportster.

That's hilarious, what else do you own, maybe we i have something else you own. LOL Thanks for watching. I'm still waiting for the Norton Tank and covers to be painted so I can finish that project up once and for all. I just bought a BMW X3 2.5 car I have been working on all day. No videos though.

I had a 1980 Gold wing a few years ago I stripped down to a naked wing.

Hello this video is very helpful.i can not hear the valve in the bowl on my 80 sportster so I'll look into removing the brass insert to clean..however..shouldn't you have a valve in the little housing too? A check ball?

Housing for the acceleratorpump allways has the checkball valve, but if your keihin butterfly is 77 and later i think They put a bleed Hole in the floatbowl instead of the chevkball valve and then you can Shake It all ya want, never gonna hear it..

Does anyone know if it is normal, that the accelerator pump always pumps in gas, even if you turn the throttle reaaaaaaally slowly? Because I can't imagine. My super e only does it, we. I really rip the throttle open.. Also I can't really adjust the amount of gas which is injected... Im really confused, since the xlhc 1000 of my friend is always dying, when he tries to get driving. The Jets are the stock ones but it's running far too fat. My guess is definately the acceleration pump or the triggering mechanism...

Yes, that is normal with the Stock carb or S&S carb. That is why you should never crank it when it is sitting around. If you have the Super E S&S carb the pump is adjustable. Go to the S&S you tube channel they have an excellent video on how to adjust that carb an dial it tin. (S&S Cycle, Inc)
