@TheAntihero6212 Illinois was coached by Mike White who ran one of the dirtiest programs in Big Ten history. He had gotten caught cheating at Cal and when he got busted for cheating at Illinois (which put them on probation) he bolted for the NFL. This was the only year Bo lost to Illinois leaving us second in the conference. There was just a 3 year period in the early 80's where all the Big Ten teams played each other. Several of Bo's teams would have gone 9-0 if given the chance.

If I recall the national networks didn't do this game since there were no Rose Bowl implications in this game so local networks in Columbus and I gather Michigan showed this game. This must be the Michigan broadcast. On the Columbus WBNS broadcast Woody Hayes was the analyst.

Fortunately that microphone was a last-minute-buy at the Goodwill

Hey I remember Ray Lane and Jim Brandstatter as the announcers.

I love watching old Ohio state vs Michigan football games especially woody hayes vs bo schembechler and earl Bruce too, I rather watch than a current NFL game

Football like racing was more enjoyable to watch in the past. Every sport is so crowded with safety now that it’s taken the fun away

Michigan used to beat ohio state football team like a drum during bo schembechler era

on the last play tomczak [inexplicably] couldnt bring himself to heave it down the field and instead scrambled out of bounds on the OSU sideline.

I watched it twice until I decided that Tomczak must have left it behind on purpose and then watched again to see if it was a fumbleroskie.

The play was a Fumblerooskie! Nebraska had run it and Ohio State tried to get cute with it while they were driving. The problem was, Hammerstein blew the Ohio State lineman off the line of scrimmage disrupting the play. Too bad he didn't do enough of that for the Bengals.

Why don't we ever see flying toilet paper these days at the Big House? =( Hahhaha...

Keith Byars in 1984 should have won the Heisman, not Doug Flutie. This is the Shaun Gayle of the 1985 Bears, the guy whose crazy sidepiece killed his girlfriend.
