1983 Fiat Ritmo 130 TC Abarth - Underside - Carcave

1983 Fiat Ritmo 130 TC Abarth Group A powered by the 2.0L 4 cylinder producing 131 bhp
Here is the Italian answer to the Golf GTI and Peugeot 205 GTI, the Ritmo 130 TC Abarth. With a top speed of 195 kph and a 0-100 kph time of just 7.8 seconds, it was one one the fastest hot hatches back in its time. Even today, she still has plenty of power to impress.
Our Fiat Ritmo 130 TC Abarth started its life back in 1983 and was immediately built to Group A specification as the owner wanted to take her rallying! From new, she was registered in Italy, before being shipped to Greece in 2019. Her original Libretto is included in the sale. She has a rich racing history with the Targa Florio in 1984 being one of her early ones. She comes with her 1985 Passaporto Tecnico and a later CSAI passport. These show the history of the competitions that this Ritmo has taken part in. We have found some old competition pictures, which we have added. The Ritmo is a great car for competition as it has a lightweight body and a powerful 2.0L engine. This combined with some Abarth trickery has turned the Ritmo into one of our favourite cars to drive. We took this Ritmo on our GOAT Tour across Greece on 1000kms of the best driving roads. And we loved every minute of it.
Mechanically she is ready to hit any kind of rally stage. After a thorough checklist we felt that she was worthy of improvement. We changed the rear suspension arms, all the shock absorbers, fitted a tight steering rack, fitted a new brake master cylinder, fitted a new clutch and pressure plate, changed the important seals on the engine and gearbox, etc. All of this maintenance (more than 6000 euros) means that you will not come across as good of a Ritmo 130 TC anytime soon. Her carbureted 2.0L engine is mated to an equally as nice close ratio 5 speed ZF gearbox.
As a nod to her racing history, she was given a full Alitalia livery by her last owner. Everybody loves an Alitalia livery… She is running her original Pirelli wheels, which are very rare. Her bodywork is in great shape for her racing history. She is painted white with the Alitalia livery being stickers. Inside you will find a full race prepared interior, which is needed for its certification and technical passports. She has a full bolted roll cage and comes with a driver bucket seat. To drive our GOAT Tour we have removed the front half of the cage and fitted regular seats for extra comfort. The cage and bucket seat can be refitted but she can be registered in her current form as a classic car. Her original fuel tank has been replaced with a fuel cell with a sponge, which is preferable when racing.
If you are looking for a fun hot hatch to drive on the weekends or participate in rallies with, then look no further. With all of the improvements we have made sure that she will put a smile on your face at every occasion. The moment you drive her you will fall in love and not let go. She is that good of a driver.
