I've a Sabre of the same year, been with a mechanic for 2 years trying to get her back on the road. Hopefully this spring the mighty V4 will work and I can start the cosmetic restoration!

Nice bike, I have exact same one. Only real way to check the gears is to ride it with it under load. If it has the infamous 2nd gear issue, it will pop out of gear around 3000-4000 rpm under load. Not idling on the center stand.

Had one with saddle bags and nice king & queen seat.

My first bike, love it.

The throttle grip is probably rubbing and causing it to stick. Have to make a space where it's rubbing.

Nope, was not that for sure. I checked. I sold it before I found out what was going on, but suspect it was the throttle cable itself that was binding. Thanks for looking though...

Once a year, you have to lubricate the throttle cables. I use a hypodermic needle and handy oil. Just loosen the screws up enough to slide the needle in and give each cable a cc or so. Nice bike, those things were as revolutionary as the original CB750 was.

What's that sound you when turn on the ignition at 00:45 ? My bike always does that too and I want to know what that is please??

Fuel pump priming. I have a 1982 v45 magna too. Mine is red with 21,000 miles. Does it if you turn the kill switch to the run position too.
