Love the post; broadcast and must say that the announcers are SO enjoyable to listen to. I remember watching bowling on ABC when growing up and this brings me back. Thank you!

The Professional Bowlers Tour was the most successful spin off of Wide World of Sports. First year they showed a bowling event that got good ratings and the PBA was able to get their tour on ABC.
Mike Durbin was pretty solid back in the day...also thought he was great in the booth after he retired from the Tour...

Durbin was excellent in the booth. I really liked him with Denny Shriber.

Pretty solid is the understatement of the century...lol 😄😉 he was an ice cold killer. Won the Firestone 3x...that alone is upper echelon legend. When i was young, I thought Durbin was weak because it was crank or die..lol. Shit, his game is THEE game. Down and in, baby. Oh, and he's a NE Ohio guy..my neck of the woods 🙂👍

@@beeemm2578 Yep! Too bad when people talk about all time greats, his name rarely is mentioned.
At the beginning of the championship match Bo mentions Mike Durbin having held the record for league high average and then it being broken by Johnny Johns.. grew up bowling juniors with Johnny and he and a couple others of us from Canton bowled a PBA regional up in Sandusky together. He had one of the smoothest and strongest releases I ever remember seeing. He was lights out every night he bowled.. especially at Imperial Lanes in Canton where he set the record.

Tom Milton averaged 250 bowling in a league at Liberty Lanes in Largo, Florida approx. 10 years ago.
Tom Milton was owner/ manager of Kenneth City Lanes after retiring from the Pro tour, still a fantastic bowler even today.

21:38 = Cranker shot!!!!
Tom Baker missed the show by 27 pins.
35:20 looks like Commisioner Joe Antenora takes ill and runs from the seats out the back.
1:08:40...You must be talking about the 2-4-6-7-8-10 Bo! :-P
Did all of the pro bowlers use 16# balls?
