1982 Excalibur Phaeton in White paint / 80's Car of the Stars on My Car Story with Lou Costabile

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

On "My Car Story" we're in West Suburbs of Chicago on 10-25-15.
We're looking at a 1982 Excalibur Phaeton in white paint.
The car's Owner is Mike Manderino. Mike’s had this car since 1984. Mike shares as a teen he remembers seeing a Corvette and an Excalibur pull up alongside him at a stop light, and thought one day he’d like to own those cars. His dream eventually came true.
ENJOY!

I agree. I've never actually seen one in person. I'd seen pics of the car, and maybe a few vids of the car. Awesome looking car. :)

I have a photo somewhere in my collection of old mags, and a really early one looked like crap, dreadful gaps between fender and hood.

@@loucostabile I must hunt it out, I just looked like a home made thing dumped on an existing chassis.Found it, September edition 1969 of an english mag called CAR , editor Doug Blain, Chassis thought to [maybe?] Studebaker Daytona [ maybe from an Avanti?] It's the fact that there was no attempt to integrate the fenders, front to reat incorporating the running board with the body and the bumper was just a chromed pipe attached to the "dumb Irons". Engine being from a Corvette. This one as RHD sold in London formerley owned by an old pop star Tommy Steele. The scribe said it was horrid beast to drive with the typical imprecise non power assisted steering of the period. The 3 per side exhausts were genuine, and strangled the engine terribly with a big square section tube blocked at both ends which extends the full length of each bank mixing the gas as in a plenum chamber with little regard for back pressure into the 3 pipe which completely destroyed the typical V8 rumble, making it sound like a "typical? vintage car". Maybe the Milwaukee cars built later werer better.
