I'd like you to show me where I made any non-opinion based claims as factual. All I have done is stated *my personal opinion* about the aesthetic of the car. You must have deleted the comment, I assume because you realize I didn't actually make "two direct objective statements as factual" as you said. Don't be so damn uptight because someone has a different opinion than you about something. I'm going to move on now because this is silly.

Hummm... I've owned an 82 since 2007 and it's been pretty far from reliable, mainly because it eats batteries. Some sort of battery drain and I've taken it to a bunch of mechanics and they have yet to figure out what is happening. That and it just goes out of tune by itself. Obviously some sort of electrical problem somewhere, but I haven't been able to pin down what it is or where. But, with that said, it's an awesome car - and gets an amazing amount of attention.

Damn. People are just that ignorant. This was one of the most if not the most powerful american car produced in 1982. I don't know why people say stupid comments about 80's cars having too low horsepower when they were fast enough for their time. This car in it's stock form could probably outrun most any other 82 anything. Trying to compare these to modern vettes is just stupid. It's like comparing this 82 to a 53 corvette.

It’s because early C3s and most C2s would leave it for dead. The EPA neutered everyone, but the Vette got the worst of it. So yeah, it deserves the derision it receives, but it’s not GMs fault.

It is really cool to see the commercial’s graphic of a micro processor. Today I think we take for granted the use of microprocessors in cars. It certainly was something to herald back then. This is the Corvette for that part of the 1970s that was kinda the 1980s and that part of the 1980s that was kinda the 1970s. If an Eddie Money album were a car. Sensational!

@me20003 This is from Corvette C3 Buyer's Guide" By Richard Price. Page 131 "Ever-increasing mechanical and electrical complexity owing not only to the plethora of emissions ruducing equipment found on 1982s and some earlyer C3s, but also to the steady addition of more and more features, makes 82's more prone to certain problems. These include sensor, solenoid, and valve failures:vacuum leaks; electrical shorts; and catalytic converter failure".

The 1982 model Corvette would be the last year for this third generation body style because my Uncle Ed happens to own a 1981 model.

Beautiful car inside and out. They still command a pretty penny today. I had no idea you could get so many cool options in 82. I want one!!

@BrotherHubbs Cool beans!!! Mine is white with red....and you'd be surprised how affordable they can be.....and the best part is you can get all kinds of replacement parts for them, some even NOS....I got very lucky with both the '95 and the L-82,but low-mileage jewels are still out there....I say keep yours and enjoy...their value will increase as time goes by....I know I'll keep mine!! All the best....

@VettemanLT5 I agree completly what you said about the 80 with the L-82 engine with more power. Maybe one day if i have enough money, I will get a 80 L-82! I myself own at the present time a 1981 Red with Red interior and i love it! I can stare at the car for hours it is so gourgous. They have bodies on them like a barbie doll! LOL

@BrotherHubbs yea i got a 82 for my first car, it originally had injection problems you would have to spray starter fluid in it if you havnt started it in like a few days, there was old fluids blocking some of the fuel, it had been sitting a year before i got it. She is still in the shop getting new cross drilled rotors re wired and some horsepower increase seems like for ever til she gets out though its a great car im in love with it and i will live in it before i sell it

@BrotherHubbs I agree but I'll go even further.Try to find an '80 model with the L-82....more power than the Cross-Fire and a lot easier to service and maintain.I just found one with 12,000 miles...couldn't pass it up.Now that one keeps my '95 ZR-1 company at my storage.....the look from behind the wheel of the C3's with those fenders swooping like they do is priceless....of those 3 years, the 1980 is the one to get....all are great though.

@me20003 Here is what Car and Driver said about the 82 corvette. "Even though the TBI V-8 and Turbo Hydra-Matic powertrain will pull you to a higher terminal speed . . . it takes so long to get there you'll need Nebraska". Cross-fire injection was designed to improve fuel economy and reduce emissions. Despite the fact that it generated decent power and was reasonably reliable, the system found little favor with enthusiasts, because it could not be readly modified for better performance".Page 138

@BrotherHubbs I agree with you since my favourite generation of the corvette was c3 ever since I was a kid, I actually grew up with the c4 but when I came across a c3 I'm not gonna lie it was like falling in love all over again. but without a doubt I bet a lot of the guys that ridiculed the 1977-82 corvette are probably the same people who probably desire a late 70's trans am

@me20003 Here is another quote about the 82's crossfire on page 134 of the Corvette C3 68-82 Buyer's Guide by Richard Price. "The 1982 Corvette engine compartment was perhaps the most crowded and COMPLICATED in Corvette History. The cross-fire injection air cleaner and induction setup where used in 1982 models ONLY, making parts rather DIFFICULT to come by."

Today the air is so bad we wear MASKS incase someone sneezes around you but in the 80’s the air was so good you and a co-worker could spray all kinds of silicons, fumes, chemicals etc for hours a day and SMOKE in between with no ill effects..

Your right about the bigger engines and horspower but if GM did not do what they did, the car whould never have been made. The car is powerful enough for me! : )
