1980 Chevy C70 Drive home, will it make it? (almost)

We only had to drive 8 miles to get it home. It hasn't been on the road since 2005 and hasn't run in 2 years. Rebuilt the carburetor and installed a new distributor. The brake vacuum booster wasn't working, and only the left side wheels were getting brake fluid. The brakes were nonexistent. The clutch was slipping, and the rear main is pouring oil onto the slipping clutch, this was making a huge smoke screen. My son said he was worried about a fire. Ran out of fuel, and then the fuel filters plugged up. Brakes locked up. So, running lean from clogged filters and the brakes dragging ended the drive. I am not sure the starter had many cranks left in it.

I really want to rescue one of those and build it to tow heavy when I get a new shop. Love the way they look.

4:11 a 4:47 I didn't like those barks and howls at all, they sounded terrifying.

I think they were trying to tell me how to fix it 😂. Or maybe asking me to move it down the road a little ways
Does this have a 350, 366, or 427 V8?

It is currently a 350, but was originally a 366

Well.... I need to clean the carburetor again. A lot of trash made it past the fuel filters. So it sputters and spits back through the carb on throttle roll in. I was going to use it today, but the electric fuel lift pump isn't running. I had gone through the brakes when we got it home. So it now stops. The wiring is a disaster, nothing electrical works, no lights, gauges. Several places in the harness are just cut like someone took some diagonal cuts or lineman pliers to it. It needs a clutch, it holds for the most part but only grabs at the top of the pedal. I am really not sure what I am going to do with the truck. When it sits, I think should sell it, then I drive it again and want to fix it. I just have so many other things that are a greater priority.

@brokewheels5 man thank you for the fast reply. I'm looking at one myself which is why I came across your video. Good thing about projects is it all doesn't have to get done at once! If you decide to keep it and fix her up post a video, maybe if I don't get this one I found seeing your video will remind me to not let the dream die. Appreciate your time.

I have an 1981 c70. About to start working it back into shape. Brakes aren't working currently. Not sure where to start. Have you found any good resources for parts or anything for these?

Yes I have. You will need to take a lot of pictures of the parts you need. Take a picture of the options tag in your glove compartment. This will tell you what front and rear axles you have. With all the different axles available, it can be a bear to find what you need, so pictures are a must. Our truck has hydraulic brakes. I was able to find the vacuum booster at my local NAPA. The front wheel brake hoses were for a b50. Not sure if someone swapped in a bus axle or what, but these hoses I found at stockwisesuto.com. I found multiple other odd parts at stockwisesuto. Hope this helps. I really need to get back on our C70, I just lost interest.
