Thank you Bry. Helpfull video. I know all about working on my vehicles in the snow and cold. ! Im 68yo, and never had a garage ! I have my late dad;s 83 F150, and my brothers did a lot of work on it, and they must have removed the EGR , as it has none on it., I guess it has done ok for many yrs without one.

These vids on the inline 6 are way more helpful than some of the others out there. I hope you get a lot more subscribers, man, you totally deserve the support.

I got rid of all that vaccum line stuff including that crap under the carb and the carb ! Why don't you get a new intake manifold ,I did offenhouser makes one for the inline 6 set up for a 4 barrel put an adapter on it for a stock 2barrel it will run great

Thanks for the video. My truck stalled yesterday. I have a feeling this part needs to be changed out as well. My truck has a stalling issue from use to time.. it will turn and turn when trying to start. I need to change out my fuel filter and spark plugs as well.

What could have been said is ... Where does a EGR vacuum line connect to .... My case is most of the Emissions stuff has been removed as the state of GEORGIA will EXEMPT Emissions Test at 25 Years and Older Vehicles

ford 300 inline straight 6 hi Ford. Good luck with everything. No, my spark plugs were fine. I just chose to change them because I was unsure when they had been changed last.

Great video. I bought my F250 new in 1981 and still use it frequently. It has the 300 inline 6 like yours. I have a very annoying whistle when it warms up and it varies with the amount of throttle I give it when I'm going down the road. At idle it never makes a sound. The two mechanics I had look at it can't come up with an answer. It Drives me nuts when I'm driving it. I stop at a traffic light and the noise stops regardless of the amount of throttle I give it. I'm hoping it might be the EGR valve, what are your thoughts on that? I've never changed the valve. The truck has less than 200K on it so for a 41 year old truck it's quite low. Thanks for any suggestions you may offer. Thanks, Neill

Great video! Quick question for you please, what is that circular tube for that goes downwards from the air inlet duct? I've got a similar truck that I'm working on and my tube is all cracked and busted and I'm trying to figure out what its function is. Thanks for your time!

It is a stove pipe, this allows warm air off the exhaust side to recirculate back to fresh air. It is for the colder areas to burn fuel properly. No matter if you have done away with the emissions crap you should keep this. It does help I just rebuilt a 4.9.

The vacuum line on the back of the egr valve where does it go connected to?

What are the diaphragms under the alternator? Also, what's the little box up by the headlight and radiator with the two caps?

Where are you changing the egr valve, in front of it is a motor with this pulley, what is it for?

What is the hose thats connected to the EGR spacer/ mount on the right side?

So the EGR valve for the 1986 Ford F 150 5.0 engine looks different. It appears to be more like the 1987 and later models.

What is the part called the valve is connected to ive looked up egr and everything onlone amd no luck i need to completely replace it in my 1981 f100 i have the same engine

Hi where is the egr valve "vacuum line plugged into? And and also on the smog pump there's another device a little smaller than a coke can it has a vacuum line where does this plug in to?

@@Flint-Dibble-the-Don no but with research I believe it ties in to the themomatic plug on the water pump. Once the reaches a peak it opens the vacuum to open the egr. Complicated but I'm eger to learn as much as I can. Cheers

Yes I do, and I actually am going to be doing two videos on that. I just haven't had time. I have just bought all my replacement lines in late November, but just haven't put a video together. Hopefully I'll be able to get around to it here shortly.

What is the valve the pink vacuum hose is connected to near the EGR? It seems mine appears to be missing and the hose is plugged.
