Never seen the best of him! Could have been anything! Such a tragic ending! When you're standing around talking about whose the best, Dulicfy's name should be up there some where in the top 20 thats for sure.

When I was a kid I had a thing for horse racing. At 12yo my pick for the 1979 Melbourne Cup was 1st Hyperno 2nd Dulcify and 3rd Salamander

probably could have been better than Kingston Town, Winx, So you think, had another 4 years of racing if it wasn't for such a tragic end in the 79 Melbourne Cup! Theres rumour that Colin Hayes shed a tear!

Had he lived, how good would the 1980 Cox Plate have been? A 5yo Dulcify v a 4yo Kingston Town. Wow.

Hard to believe he was 300/1 when he won his first start in Adelaide.

Real tragedy with the death of this horse. Just think of the battles between Dulcify and the greatest horse Australia has ever seen as in The great Kingston Town

I do believe Dulcify would won the Melbourne Cup that year had Hyperno not galloped on him and ripped off his hock. Salamander and Ming Dynasty were equally great horses for different reasons but Dulcify had champion written all over him.

You can only lament what might been with Dulcify
